Any particular names? We all know my fixation for Dierker. I'd like to see Washington get interviewed. I really don't know if he'd be better, but I think he would be a decent candidate. Mills also is a lesser known but might make a good candidate. By the way, I was kidding. Sorry, I've been fussing at lazy 8th graders today. My sarcasm meter is malfunctioning.

I agree with Mariotti's sentiment that if Girardi is Hendry's man he should move quickly and not deliberately. I disagree that Girardi is the man for the job. Bochy would be better. Brenly likely would be better. There are a number of un-interviewed individuals that would be better as well.

What are we waiting for?! I think we're waiting on Bochy. My guess is that Bochy is Hendry's primary target and Girardi is the fallback option. -

Listach seems to be a good guy. I don't know what kind of manager he will make. My guess is that these are just token interviews.

da muskat, I forgot to put the disclaimer. (Another awesome input from here from the mailbag when someone asked her why Murton didn't get an extended look at the 2 hole... she said he could work there but she prefers someone with more speed and the ability to bunt...) Holy Freaking Len! If the Cubs would learn that bunting with the number two hitter is a freaking waste, I'd be a happy man. Unfortunately it isn't going to happen.

I could root for the Mets, because they are a team built on great offense and good pitching. They didn't put all their eggs in the pitching basket. If they win, Hendry might put some value in actually having a lineup that can score runs. Yeah. I was wishing all season the Rockies would win the World Series so Hendry would try to put together a team that loved Jesus. Even though we would suck, that would be pure comedy.

That's good news. Who would the Cubs have to give up if he were to come to Chicago? Of all the prospective candidates I like Bochy the best. If Hendry gives up any player of value in a deal for a manager he's a bigger idiot than I thought. This team needs the right players, the manager is a secondary thought. Managers don't win. What if we could give up Dempster? or Izturis?

I'm going to use ten million to sign Schmidt and 15 million to sign Soriano for 2b. Pie plays CF. Any additional money over that, I'd use to upgrade the bullpen.

I'll have to look to make sure, but I think I won by 12 or 13 points. I still can't pick the right combination of receivers and TE. And thank God Dallas' defense scored a TD, because they sure gave up a lot.

Do you think LSU would beat USC? P.S. Lets revisit this on Jan. 1 and talk about whether or not Georgia Tech is an elite team. I think an LSU game vs USC could go either way. At Tiger Stadium, I think LSU wins 8 of 10...at USC, the Trojans win 8 of 10. At a neutral site, USC likely would win 6 of 10. That's my convoluted way of saying I think either team could win the game, but I do think USC is a little better.

We beat USC last season with Bush and Leinert on the team. (Yes, we beat them. Bush's illegal move at the end gave USC a win they didn't earn.) What about this USC team makes you think they are so great? Well, it's not that I think USC is so great, I just see nothing about the Irish that makes them very formidable. I'm pretty sure there are at least ten teams that I'm sure would beat the Irish on most nights.
