  1. I am in complete concurrence with you. While neither would be fun, I'd much rather have a bruised jaw than an intrascrotal hematoma. Just my two cents. I'm in agreement here. Bruised nuts are no laughing matter.
  2. I felt it was appropriate. O:)
  3. My guess is there is a lot of duplication on that list. I imagine brokers are on that list under every possible name in their family and then some.
  4. Go Cowboys....but I'm not optimistic.
  5. That's the plan. I thought you knew this, Vance, I mean they did open up CF after the trade of Wily "Don't call me Juan Pierre, cause I play like Pierre" Tavares? The signing only affects Craig Biggio and not Chris Burke. The Astros would have been better off to give Burke second and go after another CF. Biggio is only worth anything when batting at home against lefties.
  6. The Cubs are loving this. The fact that there's 28000+ names on a season ticket waiting list can be used to tout the demand for tickets and keep current season ticket holders from releasing their seats. It makes it easier to raise ticket prices and so forth. If the single seat sales slow down, the Cubs can use the waiting list to increase season tickets and eat into the single seat inventory. People likely would be afraid to turn down the chance fearing they'd never get those seats again in their lifetime.
  7. The Cubs-Sox game in Mesa only has singles remaining...but have no fear. It appears some are already showing up on Ebay. Link.
  8. Truth. Still were the only option, though, unless we think that a WV team that gave up 35 points to Georgia Tech deserved it over them. I think it means the two-team limit needs to be trashed. Only to a certain extent and in special cases like this years Wisconsin team. I agree that certain stipulations should be placed on it. The third team would need to be ranked in the top eight in BCS standings and not taken before any other eligible team that is ranked higher or something like that.

  10. I think it was called ok...except when they overturned the int that never touched the ground. That didn't bother me so much since LSU picked another shortly thereafter.
  11. Go to Cubs.com, there's a place to sign up.
  12. Quinn is more polished. Russell has the better physical tools.
  13. Great game, wasn't it? ;)
  14. Just for fun, I checked mine. I'm number 2405. Moving up! :woot:
  15. on a one year, 1.5 million contract. Link.
  16. I'm pretty sure season ticket holders have the option of upgrading first.
  17. Yeah...my daughter is 2 1/2 and growing up fast. We'll see. I put my name on the list in 2003 when I thought I might be moving to southern Illinois and figured I'd use the weekend tix and then sell the rest. I've moved maybe 300 spots in three years.
  18. If you talk to your friend and he's willing to share where I should wait in the evenings as players come and go, I'd appreciate any help.
  19. So where are you at on the list Vance? (I know you've got to be on there somewhere) I'll have to check. I think somewhere around 3000. However, I have no intention of buying anytime soon since I'm stuck in LA. If I bought, I'd either scalp or try to sell away my option each year until I could use them more regularly. I hope to get called around the time I retire and then can have a summer home in the area. :)
  20. I've been doing the auto thing for awhile. Any tips are always appreciated though. When I go see the Cubs on the road, I'll wait for them to get out of their cabs and have done fairly well with that.
  21. I'm sure there's some duplication on the list, but I guess that it will be a long time before a lot of spots open up. People will be reluctant to give up their tix because they know if the Cubs start winning, they will never get them back.
  22. I'll probably spend all my time in the autograph lines...but if I get any good info, I'll post. I'm not into autographs. At all. But if you want to get signatures, your best bet is to hang out in the hotel and catch players as they leave restaurants, bars, etc. The first night of the convention is especially good for that sort of thing. Thanks for the tip.
  23. Baseball has guaranteed contracts, but to get the big money you have to make it through the minor leagues with those long bus rides and staying in less than luxurious hotels. With baseball, if he makes it, he'll probably make more money in the long run without as much wear and tear on his body. On the other hand, he's closer to the "big time" by choosing football.
  24. i did get a couple "too busy" messages, but overall it went pretty smooth. by the way, hohokam is reportedly much improved this year, with a new scoreboard and, more importantly, new concessions. What games are you planning to see?
