  2. Well, that was his response to if he would help Castro. He also said....

  4. Theriot doesn't seem bothered by it and has already reported to Fitch. Link
  5. good for the team; not so good for Theriot
  6. I am only coming up for four games this year, and I got bleacher seats for July 4, bulllpen box row A for July 3, and will be sitting in 536 for July 1-2.
  7. The resale on dugout box is not as nice as you would think considering the price you pay. If you sell on ebay and get paid through paypal, it's hard to make much because they're going to take their percentage off the total price, not just what you make. The price of those seats is already high, so you don't make a great percentage of profit.

  9. Donte Stallworth has signed with the Ravens.
  10. I think the way the limits read, it applies only to games sold Friday-Sunday, so I don't think what you bought today would count toward those limits. But, if you wanted to be on the safe side, I guess you could call the Cubs ticket office and ask.
  11. I found someone who wanted them, so the tickets are in my name, but I sold the tickets along with postseason rights to someone else. So, I guess I'm a season ticket holder, but in name only. I had the option of 400-level outfield or bleachers and the person who wanted to purchase them wanted bleachers, so that's what I took. If nothing else, I have longer to decide if I want them by letting someone else buy them from me. And yes, the price was steep.
  12. Don't forget, they only have a limited number of tickets available with this presale. The rest go on sale like usual on Friday. While they are saying that, I'm not sure I'd count too heavily on it. It appears the Ricketts are trying to get everything they can from this cash cow. I really doubt they would turn down this chance to make an extra 20% on tickets while claiming they didn't raise prices. Also, I'm fairly certain they have increased the cap number on season tickets. I moved up 2500 spots and was offered bleacher tickets as a season option. I may be wrong, but I doubt that 2500 people declined their season tickets this offseason. I think they know that by increasing season ticket sales, they sell more early season games easily and they get more on the money up front. I have a feeling the Friday inventory of tickets will be greatly diminished.
  13. Yep. I pulled up 4 tickets to Opening Day on there Upper Deck Reserved (cheapest tickets in the stadium). They were $26.50 each, with an addition $9 per ticket in fees (amusment tax, sales tax, and oder processing) brining the total for 4 tickets to $141. I'm just going to wait until Friday and take my chances. Tickets were a little cheaper if you were buying with a master card than without one, but yeah. adding in the taxes and fees along with the 20% premium, they are pricey. I don't know what the inventory will be on Friday. Also, it was interesting to see the dugout boxes, bleacher boxes, and bullpen box seats available now. It appears that there won't be a special sale on those and that they are available for purchase. With the 20% mark-up, I doubt many of those sell today, but my guess is they will be available on Friday.
  14. this is the same premium offer posted on the first page, right? yep.
  15. And there must be a demand because there's a VWR for the chance to do just that.
  16. I think he did it that way with the Ravens/Browns because that is how the NFL views it. It may be wrong, but in the agreement signed with the NFL all the old Browns records, franchise awards, etc remained with Cleveland to be picked up by the "expansion" Browns and the Ravens were treated as a new franchise. Now, I know that may sound crazy, but that's how it is viewed with the NFL, so he just continued that line of thinking.
  17. You're ignoring my key point. His basic premise is to reward the teams with longer history, which I agree with. Jacksonville is simply not one of the most storied franchises in the league. But he then ignores the history from before the merger, which is asinine. Actually, he ignores pre-SuperBowl history. He starts with 1966 (Super Bowl 1). The merger is in 1970. I can see why you might want to go back farther than that. Maybe there's some value in it. But, I think it becomes difficult to weight the value of those championships.
  18. Thought it might be worth discussion or argument in this slow time of year. His system is rigged to favor the Cowbows. The guy is from Lewisville. Yes, Bob is from Lewisville and a host on 1310Ticket radio, but he's actually a life-long Packers fan and grew up in Wisconsin. Then it's just a stupid way to do it. If you want to reward the teams that have been around, why start with the superbowl years? Why not reward the teams that have been there since the beginning by awarding points back to the beginning of the league? He also has added average points per season if you want to redo the rankings based on points for each season a team has been around. It would elevate a team like Baltimore quite a bit, but looking at the average points, it doesn't change things too terribly much.

  20. An interesting system of ranking NFL franchises. Link Thought it might be worth discussion or argument in this slow time of year.
  21. I wouldn't worry too much, though it's possible people may make costly mistakes this year and won't learn their lesson until after this on-sale. Aside from maybe 2 or 3 games, the secondary market profit margin was already slim. If people use this to buy tickets to those games for resale, they're going to lose money. Yeah, with the already high price for premium games (or platinum) games and add 20% premnium to that, buying early to resale doesn't make much sense. Now, if there's a game you really want then paying the 20% might be better than risking getting shut out on Friday.
  22. Yeah, this looks like a way to raise prices while being able to claim they didn't raise prices. For the top games, many people will be willing to pay the premium, thus reducing the number of tix available for those games this year.
