  1. Yeah...it will be announced on Sunday. The online results probably will be posted around 5 AM or so. It will also be in the print edition. I may be able to find out Sat. night if it's in the early Sunday editions that Walmart gets.
  2. I'll give him until I get home from school today and then we can ask someone to step in and make the pick.
  3. I think his innings were limited because he reached his pitch count too soon. Some of that was the result of poor performance while other times poor defense.
  4. I think his statement that he's just an employee is his way of expressing that he has no control over the process. It's probably a combination of frustration, resignation to the fact, and reality. I've made the same type of expression at jobs I've had where I had to follow instructions or policies that I may or may not have agreed with. I'd make a similar statement when people asked about them as a way of expressing that it was beyond my control. Sometimes it could be uttered with frustration; sometimes with resignation; sometimes as a means of passing the buck. That is all likely the case here.
  5. Why don't you understand that the Owners would NEVER approve of Cuban as an owner? You are beating a dead horse. Have you polled the owners on this? While I think there might be some objections to Cuban, I doubt he has any major problems getting approved.
  6. Thanks who went ahead and posted the results in my place-holder. :D
  7. I've been doing the fantasy thing all my life. The first time I can remember involved Phoebe Cates and a scene from Fast Times at Ridegmont High.
  8. I'm going to always sell myself to the highest bidder and then claim it's not about the money; it's because that company made me feel wanted.
  9. Remember if you haven't voted, please send an email to sports@thenewsstar.com to vote for the Cubs. Voting ends at noon. Every vote counts. Thanks guys.
  10. No, someone said free gas. But it was the wrong kind.
  11. Once again, I'd like to thank everyone for their help. We may not get another total until the results are announced Sunday morning. Remember that they'll accept votes until noon on Friday. If you haven't voted, please send one. Every little bit might help. I have a feeling this thing will be decided by ten or fewer votes. Thanks. Regardless of the results, we should be proud of our efforts Cub-Nation!
  12. I'd rather see them pull a Cubs in 2006. +1
  13. I think so. They've consistently done the updates at noon and five regardless of who has led. While I have concerns over the lost packet, it does seem that all votes are being counted this time around. We'll see what kind of surge the Astros can create and do our best to counter. I think I've fired my final shot, but if I can convince a friend at the school to let his first period vote, I may come up with another 15-20 votes by noon.
  14. Every vote might count in the long run. What we do know is after seeing today's results, the Astro fans will start trying to stuff the ballot box. We have a nice cushion, but if we can somewhat keep up with the efforts of Astro fans until tomorrow at noon, all the better. If you've already voted, thanks for your effort. If you haven't, please send in that one vote. If you have friends that you could email for that one vote, do so. It could help. If you want to fax in a vote, on the first page their are several form letters or you could write your own. Win or lose, this has been an awesome effort. Thanks everyone!
  15. Ok, guys. The 119 was my whamee. I don't know if I have any more bullets. 83 is a good lead. I only hope it will hold. The biggest drawback is the Astro fans will pull out the stops to try to overcome it. Hopefully, they won't have enough time. If you can still send in some votes please do. If you haven't voted yet, please do. Go Cubs! We have a shot. Also, last week's vote polled 449. We're close to that in Cubs' votes alone! Go Cubs!
  16. so which one was the response sent to? It was actually sent to one of my main email addresses- cowboys_fan_31@sbcglobal.net. Ah ok. I think it's pretty funny. My advice on emails at this point is make the short and simple. What I suggest is making them appear to come from LSU or Saints fans. Those are less likely to be discounted. TigerFan2345 or something like Iloveduece...or the like. Or anything that says gueax in it, right  that would work.

  18. After trading McGahee, a RB will be pretty high up there so Peterson if he falls or Lynch would be decent picks. They also lost Spikes and Fletcher at LB, so Willis makes sense as well. If they're all gone, they could use a CB to help fill Clements' spot or a WR to help out Lee Evans. right. I looked over about a dozen mock drafts online and have a better idea of what to do now is someone updating the first post with the current picks? I think that's what the (place holder) in the 2nd post is for....but Vance is too busy with the hometown baseball poll right now. I'll try to update it tonight. And yes, I'm rallying a few last minute votes.
