For those close enough and think they would like to try to mail in a letter, here are two links to pre-typed letters. Letter 1 Letter 2 In the morning when I get to school, I'll upload and link the one that begins, "Please don't lose this letter," for anyone who wants it. Remember ballots must be in by noon Friday. If you're in a neighboring state and think it would make it, feel free to get some signed and mail them.

While an ad could be funny, I think it would likely backfire. I think there are more nominal Astro fans than anything...but I don't think they'll vote unless provoked. They underestimate you guys and the apathetic masses that I can convince to vote for the Cubs. Plus my students decided they liked the Cubs better when they learned there weren't any blacks on the Astros.

I haven't seen him around lately-I'm sure he'll pop in and choose them sometime. Of the 7 teams left, I know the board has a Panthers, Seahawks, and Bengals fan-so if those 3 step up, that only leaves 4 teams that I'm not sure there are any fans of on the board. I'm not a fan of them, but since texascub jumped in and stole my team :wink:, I'll volunteer to take the Giants. Since Eli got there, I've followed them semi-closely and I think I've got a decent handle on what they need. EDIT: By the way, when are we doing the draft? We'll try to start as soon as all teams are chosen. We won't set any hard time limits, but if people aren't keeping up, we might replace them.

If I can get my mom to send it, I have a "child's" letter. It's saved on her comp though and I likely won't have it until some time tomorrow. It's the one my nephew is circulating at his school.

What team wants a no power DH? BTW, he could have declined arbitration, but didn't. Declining would have been the worst move since the Padres had attached the first round pick compensation to him. He would have been unsignable in that case. Once offered, Walker really had little choice to accept.

Ha ha! I appreciate all the help. I have no idea what is or what won't be counted. Try to make sure all your emails look legit. I know it is no use to keep voting from the same email address. I'm doing about all I can here. I have about 90 votes signed so far. I'm going to wait and drop them off close to the deadline so that they can't use our total to encourage more Astros fans to vote. My guess is tomorrow's total will have the Astros in a big lead and they'll try to use that to discourage Cub fans from voting. We'll see. It's funny. We have a local ESPN affiliate. They pretty much run the national shows except for a 4 hour slot in the afternoon or when they broadcast local high school sports. Anyway, on the local segment, they were discussing the vote according to a friend of mine. Anyway, keep the votes coming! Thanks.

I'm not certain. The biggest issue with that is getting them here in time for the deadline. But you could certainly try mailing in some ballots.

Very nice! Another thing you all could do to help is to send an email to others you know who might be willing. Play on the diehard Cubs fans or those who like anarchy! Either will do!

It depends. It's been growing in numbers lately. The ones shown are on Fox sports southwest, but they also show the Rangers. It used to show more Rangers, but with all the Clemens hype, we've been getting more and more Astros. They probably show 60-75 Astros games here, give or take some.
