  1. I don't think Dusty will appreciate the skillset of Adam Dunn. Trade, plz.

  3. I like Gallagher a lot. I do think the Cubs should make a deal this offseason, but I hope we trade from the Marshall, Veal, Holliman group and hang on to Sean.
  4. Fukudome
  5. see ya, Lou. my biggest HOPE is that Piniella is replaced by Girardi... Why? So, that we can return to being an also-ran in the NL Central? return? laughable. you must have missed that whole 'playoff run' this year. 'also-ran' is a complimentary term when used here. obviously you like the managing and performance of this team as it stands. sorry, i simply do not. Girardi is one of the sharpest baseball minds in the game, and a true leader who bleeds Blue. see Marlins. Florida. 2006... Marlins. Florida. 2006 78-84, 4th place. (2 games below Pythag) Am I to be impressed by that? Are am I to be impressed by Girardi's baseball philosophy which is rooted in conventional wisdom? Sure, he was a Cub. That means nothing to me. He's overhyped and I hope he never becomes manager of this team or else we'll be mired in mediocrity. It says something when someone gets fired one year after being hired. Everyone wants to take Joe's side here, but I think there may be something to the Marlins' side as well. The Cubs would do well to steer clear of Girardi.

  7. Depending on what the Yankees offered, I'd consider it. My biggest fear is that we'd replace Lou with Girardi.
  8. I felt a baseball, I know it's real. I guess that means [expletive] are real too.
  9. I read that earlier today. Is that your opinion, or is that from Hendry's mouth? Because it reads like you're speculating that they wont pick it up. Using the CT method of dealing with Bruce, I see.
  10. Dusty in NY would produce some of the best nonsensical quotes of all time.
  11. It looks like I'll be able to make 2 of the 3 series in Houston, but I'll have to pass on the Atlanta series.
  12. Based on the evidence we have, I think it's safe to assume that DeRosa is better. Sure, anything can happen. But as has been noted, Theriot's sample size isn't nearly what Derosa's is. If you take the past three years, DeRosa is better. If you take the most recent season, DeRosa is better. You have to use career as the only means to even come close to evening them out. Considering DeRosa made an adjustment to his swing in 2006, and that he replicated the results from that, I think it's more likely that DeRosa is closer to his 2007 self than Theriot is to his career, considering Theriot's career numbers are buoyed by a 2006 run that he's unlikely to replicate.
  13. I'm not saying one way or the other but care to explain your side. Sure. DeRosa: 278/371/408 Theriot: 266/326/346
  14. I like Theriot, but there's no way he should be starting over DeRosa.
  15. What if it were to NY? ARam for Cano? Would that be palatable for all parties? I don't think any trade involving Aramis is feasable. The Cubs wanted Aramis and he wanted to be here. I don't think anything has changed to make either party change their ideas. Aramis took what was perceived as less than market value to stay in Chicago, so I'm not sure there is anything that would make him waive that other than someone paying him the amount he believed he gave up to stay.
  16. Ha ha...plz let this happen!
  17. He's sufficient as a back-up secondbaseman. He's not as good as his June numbers indicate, and he's not as bad as his late season slump indicated.
  18. As has been stated, Aramis has a no-trade clause and I doubt he's interested in waiving. That nixes the whole idea.
  19. Indeed; but I saw him after the game and he seemed surprisingly sober considering the situation. I was sober by the end of the game. I'm not a beer drinker, so the game allowed time to sober up. However, ask Seth about my condition a few hours after the game... You were pretty hammered on Friday night also. Yeah...then too.

  21. didnt bring a camera, planned on bringing one for game 4 but i knew i wouldnt be able to keep up with one for game 3Actually, I have a few pics. Included are: soccer10k, Fred Hornkohl, Vance, Mark R, Garwilly, Yeti, Laura, CT, and Seth (the only one with Seth, you can't really see him that well). I don't even have them up on photobucket yet, but I'll get around to it soon enough. Also, I'd like to make sure those pictured are all okay with it before posting the pics on here. That all depends on what exactly I'm doing when you photographed me...
  22. I think you were with the ladies when he made his appearance...and were constantly wanting CT to get you a diet coke.
