  1. Cowboys locked up Patrick Crayton to an extension last night. Terry Glenn may play for the Cowboys. Also, apparently Sean Payton called Tony Romo and asked him to play the whole game and help the Saints out by winning.
  2. I used to read http://www.orangewhoopass.com, but I haven't been there recently.
  3. Jamey Newberg had this to say about Prior... If pitching starved Texas was scared about Prior's medical history, it must be pretty ugly.
  4. This billboard was placed up last week in Monroe along the Interstate that most Bama fans will travel on the way to Shreveport for the Independence Bowl. http://www.thenewsstar.com/news/blogs/blog2/uploaded_images/Tide-Rolled-billboard-(2)-735180.jpg
  5. bwahahahahahahahahahaha! bwahahahahahahahahahahaha!
  6. San Diego is home for Prior. I think the original post fails to take that into account. If someone is going to need to spend a bulk of his time for the first few months rehabbing under the supervision of some team's doctors, it's not hard to see why he would want to do it at home. Had Prior gone to St. Louis, Cincinnati, Houston, or some other place, maybe we could draw these off the wall conclusions, but he decided to go home.
  7. We play the Padres in May and early June. He won't be pitching against us, not to say anything about pitching well against us.
  8. Futhermore, this allows him to rehab at home. I'm not surprised he took less to go to San Diego. Prior likely hopes to rehab for his home team, prove himself healthy, and then cash in on a major deal this offseason.
  9. This is where he wanted to be all along. Probably very little we could have done to prevent it.
  10. First time in five years I didn't at least make the playoffs in one of my leagues. It was a bad fantasy year for me.
  11. I don't have a lot of points, but I'm 4-1 so far. I didn't wager much on any of the games played thus far.
  12. Just got this in my inbox along with news of the Volquez trade... That's from Jamey Newberg, author of the Newberg Report.
  13. He doesn't have great control but it's nowhere near as bad as Andy Pratt was. 2.76 K/BB, 3.73 BB/9. I was using hyperbole...you got me.
  14. Good trade for the Rangers. Volquez has a lively arm, but has Andy Pratt like command of the strike zone.
  15. Isn't the Marquee landmark protected. It would be a little hard to change the name without changing the marquee.
  16. My feeling exactly. If we start crucifying and holding amphetamines against players, then we need to dig a lot deeper than just a few years back.
  17. Buster Olney is saying the Padres are the frontrunners for Prior's service and he should make a decision within the next 48 hours. Linkage
  18. Sometime today there will be a copy of this affidavit floating around the interwebs. When it's there, we can all see what it says about Sammy.
  19. Looks like my plans to get that Fukudome jersey for Christmas is back on!
  20. http://mysite.verizon.net/mpweb/Bears/Chris76-02.jpg He had the most racially offensive lines of the movie, but I laugh so hard each time I watch it.
  21. I'd just quote this post, but I think that might qualify as "groupthink." By the way, have I mentioned that the next groupthink meeting is for this Thursday at 4:00.
  22. Maybe I should title this article, "Rogers Could Be #1 If He Acquired Half-a-Clue". Nah, forget it. that wouldn't help him either.
  23. I don't think Prior is a jerk, but then again he's no Kent Mercker either.
  24. I'd trade Marshall and Patterson for Cabrera, but likely not much more. There's no way I would include Murton or Gallagher in there. Well, I might do Murton for Cabrera with no other players involved. I'd probably do Fuld for Cabrera. And yes, I know the White Sox likely wouldn't do any of those deals, and if that really is the case, I'd just pass on acquiring him.
  25. I'm still in favor of giving Clement a 1 year deal with incentives.
