  1. McCann K's. 2 out, bases loaded for Lillebridge who flies out to CF. Braves strand the bases loaded, but do score 2 runs. Going into the sixth, Braves lead 4-2.
  2. Infield single by Kelly Johnson and the Braves extend the lead to 4-2. Runners on 1st and 2nd with one out.
  3. Gregor Blanco with the single. 3-2 Braves. Runners still on the corners with none out.
  4. Braves pitcher Jorge Campillo with his second single of the game. Runners on the corners, none out.
  5. Kelly Johnson ties the game with a double! Go Braves!
  6. I'm not saying the Brewers aren't a cause of concern, but they are on a hot streak right now. I fully expect them to cool down at some point.
  7. Brewers lead 1-0 in the top of the third. Runner on third, one out.
  8. Sheets is a player that I have trouble rooting against. He played here at UL-Monroe and his wife is from the area. I'd love to be able to root for him rather than have a bittersweet taste every time he pitches well. If he's not going to be a Cub, I'd like him to go to the Rangers or at least the American League. Also, even if Sheets suffers an injury this year, unless it is something that impacts his health for next year, he'll still get a big contract. His ability when he is healthy will be too much for teams to pass up.
  9. As far as a team coming out of the East, I wouldn't count out the Braves turning it around. They could go either way, but their record in on-run games indicates that they have been very unlucky.
  10. Makes the most sense - Hoff and Ward are pretty redundant. Yeah, who needs a pair of lefty power bats when you can have Ronny Cedeno. We have to have someone who can play SS. Right now, there isn't a better option for a back-up SS than Cedeno. While Hauffpauir has hit well, he and Ward are redundant. Both are basically back up firstbasemen. They are both less than ideal in the outfield. If Fontenot could handle SS, then there would be room for another bat instead of Cedeno. As it is, Fontenot could be put there, but it isn't a situation we want to find ourselves in. So, right now Cedeno gets a spot by default. And considering there's really not a better option for the back-up SS in the minor leagues, he'll probably have his job for the forseeable future.
  11. The Cedeno AB was the bad one. He has to put the ball in play there. Instead, he looked completely over matched and showed no patience whatsoever. The decision to go with Murton over Edmonds was the right call. As as been pointed out, Edmonds looks bad against most lefties. Sherrill is brutal on lefthanders, as was seen on how he made a normally patient Fukudome look in the ninth. Murton ususally hits well against Sherrill. Murton's AB against Sherrill was not a bad one. He worked a full count and got a pitch to hit. He got under it. That will happen to a lot of hitters. Blanco over Patterson is the only questionable move of the night. It was frustrating not to get those runs across in the ninth. Sherrill's control was getting shaky, and Cedeno went up there hacking. He needed to realize his job wasn't to be the hero, just extend the inning with a good AB. He didn't come close to doing that.
  12. Can Fukudome dump a double down the line, plz http://66.79.163.197/_images/articles/2007/06/21/julianne_hough2096.jpg

  15. It was the right call to go to Murton. Sherrill is brutal on any lefty. Edmonds cannot hit most lefties. His AB vs Sherrill would have been horrid. Murton usually hits lefties well. The fact that Murton got out proves nothing. He got a good pitch and got under it. It still was the right call.
  16. Well damn. Maybe Sherrill will end up having trouble when he comes back in for the ninth as he's not used to having to get four outs. Probably not, but we can hope.
  17. Come on Jimmy Ballgame. Everything bad I've ever said about you, I take it back. Please come through here.
