Makes the most sense - Hoff and Ward are pretty redundant. Yeah, who needs a pair of lefty power bats when you can have Ronny Cedeno. We have to have someone who can play SS. Right now, there isn't a better option for a back-up SS than Cedeno. While Hauffpauir has hit well, he and Ward are redundant. Both are basically back up firstbasemen. They are both less than ideal in the outfield. If Fontenot could handle SS, then there would be room for another bat instead of Cedeno. As it is, Fontenot could be put there, but it isn't a situation we want to find ourselves in. So, right now Cedeno gets a spot by default. And considering there's really not a better option for the back-up SS in the minor leagues, he'll probably have his job for the forseeable future.
