  1. Towers is looking for pitching...some major league ready and some close to major league ready. Link. Marshall, Hill, Fontenot, and Pie anyone?
  2. Any chance the Cubs bring in Mark Grace to work alongside Len if Bob goes to Milwaukee?
  3. There's no way the Sox would do it, but I'd trade Soriano for Drew and Crisp. We could put Drew in RF, use Fukudome in CF, and sign Dunn for LF.
  4. I don't think the Dodgers would ever do this deal. Coletti may be dumb, but he's not brain dead. The Dodgers will hang on to Kershaw in my opinion. You're right. That would probably get the job done if the Cardinals were so inclined. The Braves also could sub Jo-Jo Reyes in there for Morton or Shaeffer in for Jones. I think the Padres would want one of the Braves up and comers at CF...either Shaeffer or Heyward. Marshall and Pie would be a start, but the Cubs would have to have a good third piece. Marmol could be that. If the Padres were willing to only get one pitcher back, Vitters could be the third piece as well. That deal might be enough, but if I'm the Padres, I'd want Parra, Hardy, and Hart. I don't think the Padres would have much interest in Backe. I could see them wanting Towles. Even though he was a bust this year, they might take a chance on him. I'm not sure if the Astros would trade Wandy, Hunter, and JR all in the same deal.
  5. For the first time this year, the Cowboys play opposite the Saints so I'm going to have to watch this one from Hooters. Too bad my favorite Sunday afternoon Hooter girl doesn't work there any more. I guess I'll just have to make a new friend.
  6. I'm not sure I'd be willing to deal Soto in a deal for Peavy. I might consider it if it were Soto and filler for Peavy, or a Soto for Peavy straight up. Even then, I'd be hesitant. Soto, while not a superstar, will provide cheap production at a position where production is hard to come by.
  7. According to an article on ESPN.. Would a deal of Pie + Marshall + Marmol get it done? Is it too much?
  8. Romo has told the Dallas coaching staff he's ready to play on Sunday. Link.
  9. The injury situation looks pretty bleak, but if the Cowboys can get healthy without losing too much ground, I like the offense with Roy Williams added. Crayton is a very good slot receiver and should see a lot less coverage in that spot. Roy also should take some of the attention away from T.O. which may allow him to get deep more often. I'm just nervous as hell until we get Newman, Romo, and Felix Jones back.
  10. If Shark is removed from my proposed deal, then this one might work. Marmol, Pie, Theriot, and one of Veal or Atkins for Peavy and Greene. It might be preferable to the Cubs to substitute Marshall for Marmol. I
  11. I'm going to be an easy win (as if I haven't been already) as now I have an injured Romo and Felix Jones to go with my shitty team.
  12. And that is an issue. But would He accept a trade if his choices are start for the Padres or Iowa?
  13. Miles will now be the fourth receiver, but is the primary kick returner with Felix Jones out. I wouldn't hold on to him if I were you.
  14. I think the Cowboys paid too much for Williams, but that's what Jerry does when he gets fixated on something. My feeling is that the Cowboys have too many injuries to stay afloat, but maybe they will make it. I'm not optimistic about it. What Williams does is hopefully takes some of the double teams away from Owens. Crayton wasn't consistent enough to do that. With Romo out four weeks, McBriar done for the season, Roy Williams the safety still out, Newman out for another 4-5 weeks, and Spencer likely out 1-2 weeks, and Felix Jones out 1-2 weeks maybe longer, I just don't see enough bodies for the Cowboys to keep up. With Pacman suspended, Jenkins will have to start alongside Henry for at least four weeks and Scandrick will have to play nickel back. That's 2 rookies manning key positions in the secondary. The trade for Williams will help the offense a little. I think the Cowboys still have enough to beat the Rams on Sunday, but likely lose to Tampa and the Giants before the by week. That would have the Cowboys sitting 5-4 when Romo returns. Roy Williams should be back by then. Newman would probably be a week away. I think Jerry got desperate with all the injuries and gave in too much. Maybe it will work out, but I'm fearful that it's too little to make a difference.
  15. I think any deal the Cubs could do for Peavy would begin with Marmol and Pie. The Padres might also ask for Samardzija as well. A realistic deal might be Marmol, Pie, Samardzija, and Theriot for Peavy and Greene. Is that too much? I'm a big fan of Theriot, but I'd probably do that deal if it were available. We'd have to add something to the bullpen in the offseason if we make that trade, but a rotation of Peavy, Harden, Zambrano, Lilly, and Marquis would be pretty good. My gut feeling is the Cubs wouldn't want to give up both Marmol and Shark.
  16. I really don't want to get up there until I retire. If my number comes up before then, I'm going to have to find people to split them with. If all goes according to plan, in about 20 years when I retire, I'll get to have season tickets and spend my golden year summers with the Cubs.
  17. Ha ha...I'm only 2317 on the list! I've moved about 100 spots since I first signed up.
  18. Well, that sucks.
  19. Come on, Cowboys!
  20. Don't Folk this up...
  21. What the hell is going on?
  22. 52 yarder now...
  23. Should be offsides on the Cardinals.
  24. this one is slipping away.
  25. Folk has kicked like crap today, so I'm not optimistic here.
