  1. Well...I won't get to watch this game being I'll be flying to St. Louis to visit the inlaws. Cheer them to victory, everyone!
  2. There's no doubt that Raines belongs.
  3. I put him on ignore. He used to be a poster here, but got banned. Remember Jabroni? That was he. Dont really remember Jabroni. When was he here? I came here about a year ago. *checks memberlist* Jabroni showed up in January and lasted maybe 2-3 weeks.

  5. If Walker is a DH, what is Ramirez? That's only Walker's second error this year. He's been very solid.
  6. We're getting owned by the Duke. :x http://images.allposters.com/images/130/009_224-005.jpg
  7. Nice job on the hit and run...we need to pick up this runner on third.
  8. If he had just 3000 hits, maybe not first ballot guy. If he had just 500 HRs, maybe not a first ballot guy. You get both of those, you are a no doubt first ballot guy.
  9. Can we get some runs off the damn rookie, please!
  10. Not a good start to this one. I have a feeling the winning streak ends today.

  12. Hey. Mizzou..... you could do worse !! I mean, think of it this way.... you're not having to watch Leicester, Dempster, Rusch, Mitre, or Koronka start, right ?? I got to watch Koronka start...:puker:
  13. The argument for Dawson as HOF material 1. only person with 300 HRs and 300 Stolen bases that's not in the HOF or named Barry Bonds. The other 2 being Mays and Bobby Bonds- that's pretty select company. 2. injuries cut his career short He's borderline but his numbers are pretty comparable to Tony Perez (if memory serves) minus the WS rings. I wasn't saying that Dawson doesn't belong, he has a case. But to write that Dawson does belong in the Hall in the same article where you say Raffy doesn't is ridiculous. I'm with Rocket on this one. Dawson is border-line. A case could be made either way. I love Andre and on sentimentality alone, I wish he'd be inducted, but I can also see why he's been denied thus far. On the other hand, Palmeiro is a no doubter. 500 HR or 3000 has always been a lock and he has both. He may never have been great, but he's been consistently good for a very long time and that should get him in. To say he doesn't belong is pure lunancy.
  14. Actually, that's incorrect. The Reds aren't treating this like an auction where highest bid wins. They're treating it like a high priced retail store. They set the price and if you want to pay, fine....but if not, then they'll just wait for another buyer. OBrien doesn't feel he has to move Dunn. If you want him, pay the price, if not they'll keep him or sell him to someone who will pay the price. So, assuming that you just have to have the best offer is a fallacy.
  15. From what I'm hearing, that's not enough. OBrien is really playing up the fact that he doesn't have to trade Dunn. It's believed they can work Dunn into the budget for next year. He does realize he will likely get more for him now that at any other time, but he's asking for a lot! Hill and Mitre haven't proven enough yet and Patterson's value is at his lowest. Okay, here's my package: Murton, Patterson, Mitre, Dopirak and Aardsma for Dunn and Weathers. Does that sound like it would work, Vance? A lot would depend on how much Cincinnati values Murton, Mitre, and Aardsma. Backe's success last year down the stretch has elevated his value regardless of how he's performed this year. My guess is that the Reds would ask for a different group of players. The feeling I got was that their offer would change depending on who they were dealing with. So just offering comparable to what Houston rejected doesn't likely get it done. Considering we have a stronger farm, they are likely going to try to take advantage of that and ask for more. My guess is that they'd take Patterson but will ask for Pie. They're going to want Williams or Mitre or both and at least one top pitching prospect. I'm thinking Hill or Gallagher, maybe Marshall. Aardsma projects to a reliever and I think they have an Aardsma is Wagner. I don't know if they have interest in Dopirak.
