From what I'm hearing, that's not enough. OBrien is really playing up the fact that he doesn't have to trade Dunn. It's believed they can work Dunn into the budget for next year. He does realize he will likely get more for him now that at any other time, but he's asking for a lot! Hill and Mitre haven't proven enough yet and Patterson's value is at his lowest. Okay, here's my package: Murton, Patterson, Mitre, Dopirak and Aardsma for Dunn and Weathers. Does that sound like it would work, Vance? A lot would depend on how much Cincinnati values Murton, Mitre, and Aardsma. Backe's success last year down the stretch has elevated his value regardless of how he's performed this year. My guess is that the Reds would ask for a different group of players. The feeling I got was that their offer would change depending on who they were dealing with. So just offering comparable to what Houston rejected doesn't likely get it done. Considering we have a stronger farm, they are likely going to try to take advantage of that and ask for more. My guess is that they'd take Patterson but will ask for Pie. They're going to want Williams or Mitre or both and at least one top pitching prospect. I'm thinking Hill or Gallagher, maybe Marshall. Aardsma projects to a reliever and I think they have an Aardsma is Wagner. I don't know if they have interest in Dopirak.
