  1. Maybe this is the game we should retailiate on all the Astros for last year's mess. Throw a few bean balls at Oswalt, bean Berkman.... start some fights... Go Cubs!
  2. There was so much other buffoonery to comment about, somethings just get left out. That's two idiot Sox fans in two days that have been around. Combine that with the idiotic trolling im's I get from Jabroni/Aparoche and it's been a humorous weekend.

  4. Bunting in front of Macias and Perez is not a wise move.
  5. His ERA with the Cubs has been pretty nice, too. Everyone knows that he was out of shape coming into the season and still isn't at his best in terms of being healthy, but he's done quite well with the Cubs and could make a nice addition to any rotation. However, with the Cubs' perceived glut of potential starters, Williams might be expendable if he can help land the Cubs some one to either really bolster the offense or the starting rotation. I agree that he could be moved and wouldn't oppose moving him in the right deal. (I proposed one in the Castillo rumor trade in which Williams would be moved.)
  6. Clemens at 93 pitches. It will be interesting to see if he comes back out for the seventh.
  7. He could be used as a trading chip or we could keep him as the fifth starter. He's lowered his ERA to 4.18 so far with today's effort and that's not bad for a fifth starter.
  8. I think at the cost, it's a no brainer to go with Murton. Of course, if Manny or Dunn were available, the Cubs would be foolish not to pursue one of those, but I have my doubts on their availability.
  9. 13.5 million is a lot of cash. I really don't see the Cubs picking that up unless Wood has a stellar season in 2006.
  10. Clemens at 83 pitches. Hopefully Williams can hang in there and we can get into the Astros bullpen.
  11. I'm not certain, but I do believe the Cubs could pick up the option even it doesn't vest on IP. Unless Kerry stays healthy for roughly the entire season and puts up a sub 3.50 ERA, I seriously doubt the Cubs touch that option.
  12. Good move by the Cubs. Dempster has proven he can handle the mantle of closer. I can see him developing into the role much as Izzy did for the Cardinals. I don't think the Cubs will or should set their sights on another closer. The price is about right, too. Looking at what other closers in the market received last offseason, to get one for three years at roughly 5 million a year is a little below market value. I'm sure Dempster could have gotten someone to pay him that much or more on the open market. As far as the rest of the pen, I'd pencil in Novoa, Ohman, and Wuertz. That only leaves one or two more spots. Mitre is out of options, so a decision will have to be made on whether he starts, is traded, released, or uses up a spot in the pen. A decision will also have to be made on Williamson. I personally think he'll be let go. Jermaine Van Buren is an option, as is Wellemeyer. Rich Hill could be used out of the pen as well. I'd really like to see what it would cost to get a rehabbing Dotel for the pen next season. If he returns to previous form, a Novoa-Dotel-Dempster back end of the bullpen could be formidable.
  13. Denise Richards has a better internet connection in my opinion.
  14. This one is looking to be a landslide.
  15. I fear that if Neifi gets the gold glove, Hendry will be using that to trumpet signing him and making him the starting shortstop in 2006.
  16. This is true. Look at how many managers continually get recycled despite poor performance.
  17. My guess is that Kearns will be the one traded. If Dunn is offered, I surely hope the Cubs will do whatever possible to bring him to Chicago.
  18. Is his sn aparoche? Yeah. LOL...I'm not surprised. He's a troll and since he can't post here any longer he just im's everyone with his ranting. He's such a tool.
  19. Is his sn aparoche?
  20. If the Cubs win out, Modzilla should be the Opening Day Game Thread Starter in 2006.
