  1. Nefie would be an excellent addition to another team
  2. How can anybody vote for these bums this year?
  3. sometimes saying "I TOLD YOU SO" is appropriate. Post your "I told you so" comment here from last season or pre-season. These posts should be honest recollections of your previous posts. I know I have said we should have signed Garciaparra, if nothing more because we give Wood thousands of chances but not a great offensive guy like him, besides his wife is hot.
  4. I am on 5, but they are pushing me toward the twelve step AA program
  5. Wow, I was surprise it took this long for us to bring this up again. I only pray that this will happen. It would making walking on water and the parting of the Red Sea look like child's play.
  6. Do we get to hit off a "T"? OOps that's right we have our bullpen
  7. Now we are splitting hairs here, for Jordan it was a major league hit.
  8. They have a lot of physical talent, and athletic talent, but not nearly enough baseball talent. I think that is all of our assessments, and it didn't take someone on ESPN to tell us that. The upside is that I can show my 8 year old that even big leaguers strike out with men on base.
  9. They have a lot of physical talent, and athletic talent, but not nearly enough baseball talent. Michael Jordan was a fantastic athelete, amazing physical specimen, and couldn't play baseball worth a lick. I'm amazed he wasn't in the Cubs system. Unfortunately we all know who Jordan got his first and only major league hit off of no we dont, who was it? It was the Cubs in the final exhibition game of the ST

  11. Never give up!!! It's not over until the horizontally challenged lady sing. Besides, I will now pull some statistics out of my butt that will show you a glimmer of hope. I believe in 1891 the Pawtucket Braves were 100 games back and still made it to the playoff.
  12. If you caught Gammons at the end of the comment before they wwent to commercial..he was off screen ( I had close caption on) "He said they are too undermanned and too under-talented" I have to disagree all these guys have talent, many aren't living up to that potential or they only have talent enough to be stars at the triple A level.
  13. THIS THREAD IS ridiculous!! Dusty accordign to many player "off Cubs.com" is a great manager he can't help it if the players are making stupid mistakes. Naturally it came from NP adn Matt Murton who only manager at the major league level has been Dusty.
  14. I can see this post going three hundred pages. 100 dollars every time Juan Pierre lays a bunt down. 100 dollars every time Dusty flips his toothpick around. how many more suggestions are there? Good post!!!
  15. A marketing genius, now it will get enough press to be shown on ESPN or Fox, hey maybe even WGN and not one of these stations like wciu or whatever it is in Chicago. It may even generate interest by Whitesox fans to attend one of their games.
  16. where does that leave conseco's off the head shot then? Still a homerun in 1928, I guess
  17. agree, but I have 2-0 with 2 solo hrs
  18. WoooWooo One game win streak a first of many!!!
  19. We have the talent, if all of these guys played to the real potential they had, or Dusty having the ability to bring it out in them or they find a way to bring it out in themselves.
  20. This team needs a Scrap Iron (Phil Garner) type of guy or Jim Leyland who told his players that they were stinking up a the field. A mover and a shaker who doesn't care what the fans or players think because he just wants to win. Like Billy Martin but not as extreme as Lou Piniella
  21. I've heard that Prior actually died and was buried three months ago. The Cubs don't want to tell because they want to play with the minds of hte burgeoning Reds so hat they spend more money than they need to which will affect them financially for years. this fact is true, I played the Beatle's Abby Road Album backward and I swear I heard "Mark is dead and has a tearage"
  22. The seats had plenty of butts when Maddux wasn't here. the people that have the discretionary income are more likely to see a superstar and spend more at the game than a shcool teacher. If you had a choice of Maddux or Jerome Williams and you had that type of time and income I will save it for the Maddux game
  23. Great, if he get one low and in the dirt he can smack it a mile, How is VJays glove work and what will he do when the US Open is on? OOPs, wrong Sing
  24. I say Restovich gets DFA'd. Dusty refuses to play him and Bynum has that speed factor going for him. Because we all know (let's say the mantra together) "SPEED NEVER SLUMPS"
