  1. he just doesn't get it does he? Wouldn't most people that are only signed to a minor league contract show up with pitchers and catchers? Just to get the feel of a new team and surrounding, alos to prove he was committed to playing hardas a team player?
  2. LMAO  Ias that the same one he is pushing on Eyers?
  3. the 69 cubs lived on the sacrifice fly esp. with William and Banks able to drive it deep constantly, unlike our teams of the recent years
  4. I talked to the Syracuse Chiefs trainer and he said that a lot of the players don't work hard or see the value of keeping in shape until they get hurt. They have this "I'm indestructible" feeling and just think they are every going to need to do the things they need to do to stay healthy and prolong their careers and for many it's too late when they finally realize this. So you are saying there is wisdom in old age?? could be, or his wife said "Kerry, you are starting to look like John Kruk." I know that would do it for me. Or maybe she said, "Kerry if you don't lose some weight, you're not going to be able to get your fat arse out of this hot tub." If Sarah is in there too, is that really such a bad thing? I think I can second that one

I just can't imagine not having a personal off season training, if nothing more they are tax deductable. If I were playing and had the leverage I'd negotiate for one in my contract, and a chef too. If I were a team owner, I'd seriously think about giving the services to my "franchize" players. To me it makes good business sense, like investing in routine maintenance. great idea a chef I always love hearing about stars who have trouble losing weight when they have a personal chef and trainer. I'll do that next time I negotiate a major league contract :)
  6. I don't think it can get worse than those, but this is close... Not the first for them, remember "We are Family" 79 chicken yellow uniforms and San Diego of 83 just as hideous
  7. Your avatar, however, is an amazing issue. Two amazing issues. There are too many amazing things about my avatar to count. If she's not a St Pauli Girl spokesmodel, she's missing her true calling. Hey!! wasn't this suppose to be about the cardinals???? Oh, by the way I agree, definetly the St Pauli girl
  8. I hope it is the playoffs and not a double header rain-out we had in Late august
  9. The slow, deliberate process of benching Matt Murton has officially begun. Don't worry; when Floyd pulls up lame in mid-April Lou will be forced to play Matty. what scares me is that you might be right. I am still trying to figure out leadoff, that position can't be solidified either.

  12. So is that what we were playing last year. It didn't come close to being played properly.
  13. remember years ago when Kerry had his one healthy year and there was a guy named "Mack" (don baylor Hiree) Mack worked him out hard and he whined about the guy, now he is born again fitness freak.
  14. but if history has anything to say with seattle almost but never happened then Tampa Bay. I think I'll wait and let time prove him right (hopefully) or me wrong
  15. I object to that insinuation, If you have forgotten Macias lead the league in......ummmmmmmmmm something and I am sure derosa will too.
  16. Dang, that was refreshing. amazing how good everyone looks on the first day.
  17. Sounds a bit far, but not stay at the Hilton byt the airport if you are there on a weekend. The normal price is 200 a night but on weekends it is 50 bucks for a real nice place plus kids get a travel kit. Eat at a place called "First Watch" http://www.firstwatch.com/ for breakfast the greatest Breakfast food and lunch you'll ever have and plenty of it. Night eat at http://www.billjohnsons.com/ all you can ribs and baked apples.
  18. they said that last year and who won the WS? I like the article emphasis that we paid. too much for mediocre players like Lilly and DeRosa
  19. That's easy to explain, the textile industry reserves the best for NY and Paris shows in the spring, that leaves all the tacky material to MLB, who then contracts a designer off one of those hokey shows on cable TV to design them. Thus saving more money.
  20. Boy at least it wasn't a spider and a glass table (reference to Glen Allen Hill's Injury)
  21. sincere thanks for the refreshing optimism. i have a feeling that jason will have a good year and be a vaulable part of the rotation. i hope he can have a year in 07 like he had in 04 and 05 with 200 ip and 15 wins. I like it too, but I also like our homegrown kids, we tend to favor them the kids we have seen come through the system. and with Jason's forgettable year last year well......... I hope he can bounce back and win me over with 16 wins. I would prefer Marshal though.
  22. Ya, so would i, but the school district hasn't offered that to me yet
  23. It took three pages for that come up? Wow, we must be getting slower on the uptake. I think we have found something we can all agree on. Make it a "man law"
  24. Nobody knows exactly, but it seems to be somewhere around 115 million (that includes around 13.5 million for Z this year). I was worried there that we actually outspent the Yankees. If were not near that point give the guy the cash (not my money)
  25. I agree, this is where stats people need to leave because Carlos's emotions and the ability for them to pump up a team and fans is worth 4.8 million alone And Izturis drives in runs with his glove.Stupid stat heads. I thunk I struck a nerve??? No you didn't strike a nerve, If you weren't being sarcastic your post was pointless. Z should be payed a lot of money becuase he's a good pitcher not becuase he can fire up a crowd with his fist pump. I think the Cubs will get a deal done. Hendry hasn't put out anything to the press to lead me to believe otherwise. As a perveyor of good pitching I agree, but for MLB it is marketing. chicks dig the homerun ball (remember that saying) pitching is not exciting, but a team that can have a pitcher that is great and emotoional like Z can draw or maybe keep fans that are on the border line of wether they like the sport or not. He makes it fun to watch.
