    Well, some good news about one of our injured players. Borowski is way ahead of schedule: Suntimes Article Hopefully he can get back soon and pitch like he pitched in spring training. Hawkins needs to be moved back to that setup role ASAP.

    It looked to me like he might have tweaked it during Sunday's game when he hit his last double. He was hopping and then realized the ball was off the wall so he had to hustle it to 2b. It looked like he grimaced a little bit and Speier came over and asked if he was okay. It must not have been too bad because he played in yesterday's game.

    Dusty's excuse on WGN for starting Neifi, "Neifi's more familiar with Eaton than Jerry being he came from the NL West. So...we'll work it out." Great. Neifi is going to be more familiar with most pitchers because he's spent all his time in the NL. Hairston better get comfortable with those splinters in his butt. :roll:

    Are you serious??!? Where did you hear this? Levine on ESPN 1000 said Neifi would be starting.

    Dusty sucks. I'm tired of this crap with Neifi and Macias getting playing time over Hairtson and Dubois. It's a joke.

    Bruce Levine was just on ESPN 1000 talking about Walker. He said Walker's knee is sprained, but he won't need surgery. Said he would miss about a month. Fontenot would be called up to take his spot. Good news. A lot better than we thought.

    The problem I have with it is that like many I'd rather see Corey batting 5th. You want someone who's going to take pitches and be able to make contact batting 2nd for you. Corey is too impatient for the 2-hole. He wants to be an RBI man, so let him be an RBI man. Dusty is too caught up in speed at the top.

    Does that mean Hairston is leading off? Yep. Hairston is leading off and playing 2nd. The lineup is in Game Thread.

    Dusty is batting Cpatt 2nd today against the Brewer's. Stupid. Corey has no right batting 2nd. :x

    Not yet. He's still got time for heroics. Plus the game isn't being shown on TV for some reason. But rest assured, Dunn updates will be made, for better or for worse. Make that 0-4 with 3 K's...

    Quick, name the last Cubs team to have that much talent in back-to-back season. Probably have to go back to pre-Hiroshima. Because Dusty hasn't made idiotic moves the past two season with the Cubs and many more while with the Giants? For me, this is the final straw. I will no longer defend Dusty if I think he gets too much abuse on this board (which I have done in the past). How would it have looked if either one of them hit a HR? If we're wasting PHs, why not keep Remmy in the game and extend him a second inning. Hairston has gone 2 for 6 against Lyon. With two doubles. Neifi has never faced him. Don't believe me? See for yourself. That's a perfect sample size to give Hairston the shot at pinch-hitting in that situation. I mean, come on, he's batting .333 against the guy. :D So what if he's batting .000 as a pinch hitter. :wink:

    Ok. Dubois .214 as a pinch hitter in his career in 16 plate appearances. Hairston Jr. .000 in 6. Granted not a whole lot of chances in their careers, but nothing says they can effectively pinch hit. Playing every day is different then being a good bench player. Macias .250 and Perez .306 in a combined over 200 at bats. Can we sticky this in the Fantasy Baseball section? Or in Rants as just more whining? :roll: Big sample sizes you have there. Really makes your case. :roll:

    It's bad when I knew Neifi would be the pinch hitter before he was announced. It's bad when you know the exact situations in which your manager is going to make bad mistakes. Just a stupid decision by Dusty. The lefty/righty matchups don't mean squat if it means the lefty is going to be Niefi Freakin Perez. You have to go with Dubois in that situation. The only true RBI guy on the bench has to sit and watch Niefi slap the ball. Complete joke.

    You gotta love the Cincy fans chanting "Who's your daddy" after Dunn hit that bomb off of Pedro. I love it. :D
