  1. From Rotoworld: Good or bad if you're a Philly fan?
  2. I think these numbers will be right around where he'll be if he gets a chance to play everyday. I hope he has a fast start to the season though. Otherwise he's doomed.
  3. I think a better question would be what is frostwyrm doing reading the gossip columns. :D
  4. I think the Cards should pick him up for a couple years as their replacement for Walker in right field.
  5. That's news to me. So Cedeno will start either at 2B if we trade Walker or SS if we can't get Furcal? Is that the plan? "Earned starting jobs" and "guaranteed starting jobs" are two very different things. Remember who coaches this team...
  6. Some notes from a new article in the Trib (it's Sullivan though): Here's the article: ChicagoSports.com
  7. Here's the article (Registration Required): Chicago Sports It's Sullivan though. Grain of Salt comes to mind in a hurry.
  8. whoaboy http://forums.stltoday.com/viewtopic.php?t=308345 Please let it be true. Please let it be true.
  9. If Furcal plays 2b I feel sorry for whoever the Mets get to play 1b. Could you imagine that gun of his thrown from 2b?
  10. We was ready to accept $1.5 million, and declined it, but by all reports it wasn't because of money, it was organizational politics. You and Theo splitting the money?
  11. Gammons said Esptein might just take the year off. Maybe the Cubs will look at him in 2007 after Hendry blows it again this year. I don't think the Cubs will pay the GM 2.5 mil. Sorry to burst the dream. I don't think any team is going to pay a GM 2.5 mil. The highest paid right now is Schuerholz in Atlanta and he makes 1.7 mil.
  12. Looks like he'll be coaching the Astros through 2007 Not really a big surprise.
  13. His K rate is terrible, but he doesn't walk very many and doesn't give up many homeruns. Might be a good change of pace with the rest of the high K/high walk pitchers we have in the bullpen. He'd have to come cheap though.
  14. Gammons said Esptein might just take the year off. Maybe the Cubs will look at him in 2007 after Hendry blows it again this year.
  15. Rotoworld: Any interest in bringing him to setup Dempster if the cost is right?
  16. I agree - I've always thought he was one of the most overrated minds in baseball. My impression is that he's very good at dissecting in game situations, but terrible when it comes to evaluating players and teams as a whole. If you need to know what's going to happen the next play before the ball is pitched Stoney is your man. I wouldn't say he'd be a good GM or manager though. I almost wish he'd just go back to Arizona and stay away from Chicago. I'm tired of hearing about him.
  17. Wow. Can't say I saw this coming. Oh, and btw on the Hendry vs. Epstein polls, I would take Epstein over Hendry in a heartbeat. :D
  18. I think Stoney should replace Jockety in St. Louis.
  19. Wonderful. :wall:
  20. The Mods seem to be having a good time today. :D
  21. O ye, of little faith I was kidding (mostly). Gammons seems to have tons of inside information about what teams are going after what players. He just doesn't seem to put that information to good use when he makes his predictions.
  22. At least UMfan put his in the right place.
  23. Did Gammons say anything about Neifi or Macias? :D I guess this means that we can cross Furcal and Giles off of our list. No way they're coming here now.
