  1. Of course. "Thank you for calling the customer service support line. We are currently experiencing higher-than-normal call volumes."
  2. grrr! Me too! I don't want to have to call... I'm having the same problem. :x I don't want to have to call them and be on hold for an hour.
  3. I wouldn't be nervous because I believe Zambrano will be willing to negotiate during the season--especially the first couple weeks. If a deal is close, I'm sure Zambrano and his agent will be willing to hammer out the minor details during April. I don't know. Z has pretty much made it known that if he doesn't have a contract in place by the end of spring training then he's going to wait until the season is over. He doesn't sound like he wants to negotiate during the season. I'm sure if they are close to an agreement he'd be okay with it taking a couple extra days, but that's probably about it.
  4. This really makes you wonder on whether Kerry will be healthy enough to even contribute to the team this year. He's only pitched in a handful of innings so far this spring and is still having trouble with that shoulder.
  5. I think this was pretty much a given after Miller's last start. He pretty much pitched his way into that 5th spot with a great performance. Hopefully Prior can spend time down in AAA getting him arm strength back and make his way up to the big club soon.
  6. It looks like Guzman will benefit from this opening (Len mentioned it on today's game). That's actually good to hear. Hopefully he uses the time to show that he's worthy of being on the big club. I'm hoping he can take either Miller's or Marquis's spot in the rotation.
  7. Soriano has been bad the past couple of days.
  8. I got the same feeling. I don't think you're reading too much into it at all. Lou didn't sound very optimistic about things.
  9. Alright. This is like the 10th time you've predicted something. Do you own a magic ball?
  10. Ugh. Something wrong with Woody's shoulder. Not good news.
  11. Jaque just hit the cut-off man.
  12. i could see him writing a 1,000 page book with no information in it. Not trying to inflame, but just because he may not be the best color man, it doesn't mean he doesn't know anything about baseball. I don't think either of us are implying he doesn't know anything about baseball. It's more to the point that he gives information that even the casual fan already knows, and he takes about 5 minutes to explain something that could be explained in 10 seconds.
  13. Anyone else get the feeling that Plesac might have written the "Dummies Guide to Baseball"?
  14. GROUP A: Ryan Howard GROUP B: Adam Dunn Alfonso Soriano GROUP C: Justin Morneau DLee -> P. Fielder Jermaine Dye GROUP D: Brian McCann Morgan Ensberg B. Hawpe H. Matsui J. Gomes -> Mark Teahen WC Ryan Shealy -> Hanley Ramirez First Half Transactions:
  15. Wow. I have a better chance at making a shot then NC does right now. They are ice cold and it looks like they've lost the game.
  16. 11 pitches an inning? Now that's definitely something I like to see. Also love to see the ground ball to fly ball ratio. I really am excited about Samardzija as a prospect. I would like to know how his secondary pitches are coming along.
  17. In general, that has been his problem but that really wasn't evident today. Frandsen got a bloop hit ahead of the homer. It can happen to any pitcher. He finished off more hitters today than recent memory. 3.1 IP/ 4H / 2R / 2 ER/ 4SO/1 HR Yes, more hitters than in recent memory. But he's still not at 03 levels. The changeup would help a lot with that. I mentioned this earlier. I haven't seen him use it much at all this spring. I really wonder why. I said a few pages back that he may be keeping it in his back pocket for the regular season. Have a new wrinkle to show hitters. Plus a change up is more effective the second time through the order. Might be his starters mentality not wanting to show it off right away to hitters when he comes into the games. But why? Why wouldn't he work on it in spring training? How is he going to throw it effectively if he isn't practicing throwing it now? And why hold it back? It's not like he's been facing the Astros or Cardinals in spring training. He's been pitching against the Angels or the Giants, teams that he won't see at all this year or will only see once or twice. The whole point of spring training is to work on your pitches. I really do wonder why he isn't working on his changeup.
  18. Please go to Michigan. Please go to Michigan.

  20. Premium is working for me right now. Is it up for good? I'm tired of slumming with the regulars. :D
  21. That doesn't help Guzman's cause. :x
  22. Can't fault Guzman there. That was a good pitch. Frandsen was just able to muscle that pitch into short left.
