    The only thing that could fix this offense is having better hitters in it. Unfortunately, that's not really an option.

    Care to elaborate? He's been trading for crap hoping it turns into gold lately. EJ said it dead on with what I meant this kind of garbage gets nobody anywhere. I don't particularly like the trade, but we need honest debate here. Trachsel is not crap. by definition he is average. na..I'd say he is crap And you'd be wrong. He has worse overall numbers than our worst starter Jason Marquis. So what's the point of bringing him on to start?

    Then you aren't looking at this the least bit rationally. Hendry gets crap because he makes crap moves. How else do you barely break .500 over 5 seasons with a top tier payroll? Steve Trachsel is a terrible pitcher. He was decent from time to time earlier in his career, but he sucked last year and he's sucked this year. He was destroyed late in the Mets postseason run last year, because he sucks. He's walking a ton of guys and not striking out anybody, and he's giving up a considerable amount of hits. He's been lucky in August that his ERA is as low as it has been. Steve Trachsel is not a terrible pitcher. I wish, for once, that you'd drop the hyperbole. Opponents have a near .800 OPS against him the past 3 years. I'd say that's pretty terrible.

    Im sick of Hendrys thinking where he thinks he can take these crappy players and then just becuse they come to the Cubs they will magically become superstars..He just did it again with Traschel Yeah, it'd be nice if he actually traded for a decent player not over the age of 34 once in a while. He's been trading for crap hoping it turns into gold lately.

    I'm not sure there is any mortgaging the future here. The worst part is the loss of Moore's trade value, but neither Moore or Cherry had much future with the team whatsoever. Here's another thought-is Hendry just trying to clear 40 man space now? That's my assumption. But why? There's been talk about Kevin Hart being called up when the rosters expand. I'm guessing this opens up a spot on the 40-man for him.

    mlb.com still has Wandy pitching. I'm guessing it's just a mistake on ESPN's part. Wouldn't be the first time.

    Not bad. Wouldn't mind seeing that lineup with Soriano instead of Monroe as our normal lineup. Kendall for Blanco obviously as well.
