    If there ever were a situation for Marmol to pitch, this would be it. He better be in this inning.

    Crap. Would have liked a couple more, but I'll definitely take the lead. Looks like it will be a nail-biting 8th and 9th.

    Is he another one like Hawk? I don't think so. I think this hurts him. They aren't in it every year. It's got to be pretty tough for him with the Cubs taking the lead that inning while he was talking to the Cubs' announcers. He basically had to keep his mouth shut. I've listened to him on occasion. He's a very decent announcer. One of the better ones.

    Walking Ward to get to Soriano? I know he just came off the DL, but that seems like a strange move. EDIT: Nevermind. Soriano sucks.

    The girlfriend went into the other room to watch something else moments before the Cubs' started this inning. She's banished from watching games the rest of the year. Anyone want to go to Thursday's game with me now? 8-)

    Which is exactly why he shouldn't be hitting leadoff when he returns. He should be put in the 5-hole and left there. There's absolutely no reason for him to be hitting leadoff, especially if he's not going to be stealing any bases for us down the stretch.

    Bah. I've started tapering off after climbing from last to the top 10. I'm hoping to get into the top 5 before this is all said and done.

    Considering the Red Sox have a 7.5 game lead and we're almost to September, I'd say they would have the bigger collapse if they end up not winning the division.

    It's going to be interesting to see who gets sent down to make room for Soriano. Pretty much comes down to Pie, Fontenot, or Murton.

    Do you guys not remember how he pitched in his last start? He is not the ace of the staff nor was he supposed to be. I don't feel like getting into this again, but Marquis is paid like a 3rd starter, but is a 5th starter at best. Bad signing.
