  1. If I could, I'd vote for Henderson, McGwire, Mattingly, Grace, and Dawson, in that order. Sure there may be some sentimental votes there but that's how this thing works sometimes and I think it is clear the McGwire isn't going to get in but I'd still vote for him. And I am real curious to see how the last three do in the voting.
  2. This is awful news. He was effective and he has a big place in all of our hearts. I don't understand why you wouldn't bring him back.
  3. Motion to change the title to Torres Toast, Act II. Anyone have the picture of his head on toast?
  4. 1) Harden costs nearly as much as Peavy this coming year 2) Harden would leave as a free agent after next year but he heard it ...from some genius at the office water cooler.
  5. Unless there's a chance you may miss the playoffs due to a loss this week with Bush out, there is NO WAY I trade Bush in a PPR for just about anybody. In the playoff weeks he has the chance to really carry your team.
  6. Well if Peavy sticks to his guns, this really makes the Cubs the favorite to land him.
  7. Well the 3rd is kind of a WR. Dante Hall, Return yards count. Rams D is awful so he gets a lot of opportunities and there's a bonus at 100 ret yds so he's typically a good play. I went ahead and dropped Holt, sorry Raw I listened to the others' advice. There's still the option of picking him back up after Sunday if they do start getting him the ball this weekend.
  8. I agree with RAW. I wouldn't give up on Holt just yet. A problem with that is, I don't want to have 3 Rams WRs on my roster. I also have Berrian and Curtis who I just picked up. I suppose Curtis could be an option but I'm thinking he has more upside in that offense if he can get up to speed. Basically, you can come back from injury, you cannot come back from old.
  9. In a regular points league. What are your guys' thoughts on dropping Torry Holt for Donnie Avery? I've also got Dante Hall, but return yards cound and he consistently produces more points than the shell that is Torry Holt.
  10. I disagree. Young is a very distinguished, authoritative, and commanding respect sounding word.
  11. I'm calling a Dave Roberts steal at the end of the game cueing a miraculous streak....
  12. I had SRO for Game 2 of the NLCS in 03. The best plan if you can handle it is really just walking around. I walked the walkway in front of the 200 section nearly the whole game with a buddy and we stopped sporadically in different places where security would let us throughout the game. We did this tactic after we realized at about the 2nd or 3rd inning that the views from under the overhang as far back as you are required to stand are awful.
  13. I hope that ol' lady is still alive.
  14. Anyone else have pictures of Ted Lilly dancing in their heads?
  15. You want the Cubs to win before game 5. Rooting for this to go to 5 just so you can see the game is kinda like rooting for your fantasy team players over the Cubs.
  16. I have two SRO for game 2 I may be looking to swap for game 1. Any interest? Looks like I can't use those either as she cannot get out of work on Friday (we live a 7-8 hour drive away). So I'll have to sell them on Stubhub.
  17. Why'd they quote kid rock? You know of the "Well my name's Kid Rock I'm a Capricorn; And Detroit's city where I was born; When I was young I knew I'd always be; A super live body rockin mc; I'm TNT I'm dynamite" variety. That's the jinx I'm worried about.
  18. I have two SRO for game 2 I may be looking to swap for game 1. Any interest? Yes, that'd work out much better. I'll have to see if my wife can get out of work on thursday/friday.
  19. The lesson for next time: don't commit felonies I'm an attorney it is not court for me, its a civil matter that we are going to lose anyways which is why I think it is the dumbest court hearing ever. But yes, good lesson, say no to felonies.
  20. Good news, my wife won the raffle to get to buy tickets. Bad news, she didn't check her spam email until 8pm last night. Double bad news, after I bought standing room only for game 1, I look at my calendar this morning and realize I have the dumbest court hearing ever that I probably can't get out of. Apparently, I may be trying to sell them if I can't get another attorney to cover for me. :banghead:
  21. I'd take that pandering line Lou is giving at somewhere below face value. He's going to rest people and get some of the other players chances to play so that he can set the playoff roster.
  22. NL Division Series Tickets: TBD at Chicago Cubs - Home Game 1 (Dates TBA - Tickets will ship end of Sept.) at Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL Section:Infield Club Box 19Row:4Price:$2,850.00 eachQuantity: 4 OUCH! It pretty much guarantees that the real fans will not be sitting close to the action (unless they are season ticket holders...) or just rich fans... i think you have to be a decent size fan to drop that amount on the 1st round.
  23. Welcome to the forum. Are you aware that green font is the font designated for sarcasm here? If so, I apologize.
  24. We don't treat objects like women in the game thread, man.... I got my fix by looking on eBay to check playoff tickets prices. Cubsman84 uses pictures of hot chicks to sell his tickets. I know it has to be someone on this board.
