  1. It would be nice, but I wouldnt bet on it. I wonder if they are thinking about it to give Fukudome a day off against Johnson? Going with Soriano, Edmonds, Johnson in the OF? But Soriano is only 1-8 w/ 4 Ks against the Unit in his career so that may put a damper on it even if he does see the ball and swing the bat well this afternoon.
  2. Now, HERE'S some nit picking for ya .......... Cedeno P PA P/PA BDI LOB RBI% 6th inning 82 19 4.32 2 5 0.286 7th inning 104 25 4.16 1 13 0.071 8th inning 79 20 3.95 8 9 0.471 9th inning 36 9 4.00 0 5 0.000 6th thru 9th 301 73 4.12 11 32 0.256 All innings 569 145 3.92 19 75 0.202 Factionista! Fact Nazi! Harbinger of Facts! That's the beautiful thing about stats: You can pretty much use any variation to support your opinion. Just ask Rich Hill fans. The stat I look at when judging how sucktacular Cedeno is as a PH is his robust .083 BA this year as a PH. Yeah, he only has 20 ab's as a PH so what does that tell you? It tells me that Lou has very little confidence in him as a PH. Not a good sign with your first choice for a RH PH. Cedeno is just sucking up a roster spot and he is thankfully not long on this roster as Hendry is more than aware of this weakness. Maybe I did overreact slightly about saying that this is the most "glaring" hole on this team ( which is actually a good thing when a single bench player is your most glaring hole- means you're a good team) but it definitely is something that has to be and will be addressed. Like I said previously, those of you who don't think that improving this need is not a big deal, the next time Cedeno is up as a PH late in a game and he swings at junk over his head and chokes yet again, I will bump this thread. I not only want someone who is a good PH in his roster spot, but a veteran who's been through pressure situations late in games. That's another thing I dislike about Cedeno, he's a headcase and is a terrible fundamental player who will choke every time. Can you tell I don't like Cedeno........whatsoever???? Wait... don't pull me into this as on your side. I was just doing a Colbert reference sarcastically.

  4. IF it is going to count, I think the following should be the new ground rules: 1 - It is a 7 inning game (it is an exhibition there is no need for it to be a full 9 innings, last night would have ended at midnight eastern even if it had only gone to regulation). 2 - Pitchers are only allowed to go one inning and if the player went more than one inning in his team's last regular season game he is not allowed to pitch in the all-star game and an alternate selected in his place although the player substituted for is still technically an all-star and free to be involved in the festivities. 3 - Rosters are expanded from 32 (or whatever they are now) to 40, and all of those additional players are pitchers picked solely by the manager.
  5. Weak. Not even a remotely scandalous picture? Wouldn't a picture of his wife been more effective?
  6. I'm calling Uggla to win and to have the longest HR.
  7. I believe I read that also. Yost has said the Brewers will go Sabathia, Sheets, Parra, Bush or McClung, Suppan after the break. If everything remains, the big showdown series in Milwaukee to end July will be: Sabathia vs. Lilly Sheets vs. Zambrano Parra vs. Dempster Bush/McClung vs. Harden What a great time to go on a honeymoon. Anyone know if they show Cubs games in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico?
  8. So is this what winning produces? Erection jokes and pictures of scandalous girls? Not that I mind, especially the hot chicks.
  9. I trust Jimbo knows why Richie was good for a few years and has fallen off a cliff. *coughcoughROIDScoughcough* That severely dislocated shoulder on a check swing sure didn't help his career.
  10. Ahhh... that's a little better. My bachelor party is this Saturday so if anyone can get this girl to come out to Indy with us that'd be great. Thanks.
  11. The only pitchers he had left was Harang, Volquez, and Cueto. I don't blame him for using Harang, but the problem I have with it is pitching him 3 days later. Should have called somebody up and skipped his start. Smart teams have forced position players to pitch rather than hurt their ace. One game, especially to the reds who aren't in the race, is not worth losing Harang for any period of time. Exactly. However, everyone who visits NSBB is quite aware that Dusty isn't smart. Heck, I would have put the big boy (Harang) at 1b and let whoever was playing 1st have a crack at the rotation. When a game gets to the point where you have zero bench left other than your other starters, it's time to let anyone who isn't a rotation guy pitch if they want to pitch. The outcome of one game should never take precedence over the outcome of a career. Well unless one of those rotation guys yet to pitch is Marquis. I'd make him do a Harang
  12. Motion for the Dusty B sweep machine. BTW, can everyone going to this game NOT boo Corey please. That was ridiculous tonight. (and no I'm not always against booing)

  14. Much fear in this one I see
  15. Then they'd really be a team full of a-holes. But him v. Johnny Gomes would be fun to watch.
  16. Yes, and its good form to stick up for your players as this could mean money for Ronny in the future. Sure, one hit and one RBI isn't much but if it were to happen a handful of times then that could hurt him.
  17. How are we looking? I'm stuck at work and there aren't good play by play options for golf.
  18. Everyone should be watching Tiger vs. the old guy underdog, instead of this.
  19. I guess you would have had to actually heard what was said in the context of the game. Milton and the media are making it sound way worse than it was. I found Stoney's constant personal attacks on Moises Alou to be much worse than anything Ryan said about Milton the other night. I did hear it... but thanks. Sorry was just my humble opinion and I am so terribly sorry that I seem to be incorrect even though it is just my opinion. no reason to be so defensive. Nor condescending... RedIvy was the one telling me my take on the situation was wrong in the first place. Wait a minute... ::looks at avatar of Grudzy in the Royals uni::... you are the Royals announcer aren't you?!?

  21. What I don't get is how this announcer really isn't catching much backlash for this. It was an unwarranted and unnecessary personal attack on a player from the other team whom he has never personally met. I thought it was distasteful and unprofessional. Perhaps his punishment is in fact being the Royals announcer.
