http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/cubbybear314/dempstercopy.jpg Ryan Dempster (4-3, 3.87) comes into today's game having lasted at least 6 innings in 12 of his first 13 starts of the season, 8 of which were quality starts. In his three starts since the Pirates came to town and roughed him up on Freddy Sanchez day, Dempster has allowed just one earned run in 20 innings, accompanied with a puny little WHIP of 1.0 in that span. He also chased a bear away from the dugout after the fifth inning (pictured above). danks (4-5) takes the mound for the white sox. Since the middle of May, he has allowed 25 runs in 33 innings, and frankly, he just looks lost out there. He's way out of his element, and today the bottom line is that he's clearly outmatched by a superior team. Experts and baseball analysts across the board liken him to a modern-day Eddie Gaedel--sure, he's good for a few laughs and can even get the job done if he gets lucky enough, but when push comes to shove, he's genetically unfit for the game of baseball. It's science. Go Cobs.
