    Been cleaning and chasing toddlers while watching Wells do his best to ruin this streak. How did he go from his solid rookie year to being so predictably useless? And why won't Blake DeWitt just let me loathe his existence in peace?

    Okay. And if there were a type of vegetable knife where a known, significant percentage of users will slip and slice open their fingers, wouldn't you want the government to step in? If the government wants to step in and say that knife manufacturers need to make known upfront that such a percentage exists, and they want to regulate when and where knives can be purchased, and they want to regulate where vegetables can be cut using said knives and how old you have to be to cut them, that's fine. If the percentage is severe enough, they can go so far as to require knife manufacturers to use a certain portion of their profits to make available to their customers resources and methods they can use to reduce or eliminate the use of knives in their lives if they have trouble doing so by themselves. However, I don't want them using that percentage as justification to force me to choose between chopping an onion with a spork and making chili with no onions.

    Extrapolating from the last four days, the Cubs are on pace to win 97 games this season. They're a lock to win the division. 2007 Rockies had nothing.

    I just think it makes more sense to say that poorly-timed lack of defense or pitching will lose games. (Edit: If Brant Brown had caught that ball, I wouldn't call it timely defense.)

    Why is hitting the only one qualified with timely? Teams can go several entire innings with zero success in hitting and still have a very successful offensive game. Can't say the same for pitching or fielding. You can also have quality hitting without much success (this year's Cubs are probably a decent example). ETA - Not sticking up for clutchiness or whether or not such a thing should merit HOF consideration, just saying the wording isn't unreasonable.
