  1. Yeah, I've been on his azz for a while now. In today's broadcast JD said after Swanson made a great defensive play "You can't take him out of the lineup even when he's struggling offensively because he's so good with his glove". I get that, before hitting the game winning dinger today he simply looks tired. Might just need a day off frankly
  2. That's what I came into post...they are fattening up on a weak division (looking at you white Sox) and league in general. Cubs schedule has been much tougher than the Tigers to this point. No doubt about it.
  3. Good post and points....Horton was great really. Future is bright for him. I wonder how many innings he'll pitch this season? Makes the need for another starter at the deadline even greater obviously.
  4. I guess...played the Dodgers a lot in April and fared ok but as of now there isn't anyone swinging the bat consistently well. Shaw is a rookie so I kind of get it, but Swanson is a continual disappointment to me. PCA can't do it all every game. The next two games are against sub-par starters for PItt and they need to get re-calibrated whether the wind is blowing in or not.
  5. Pretty tame IMO....I'm new but overall you guys are taking a crappy loss quite well IMHO. Decades of losing can do that to anyone I suppose.
  6. Worst it's looked all year. I live outside Grand Rapids, MI surrounded by Tigers fans and my buddies are always telling me how great our offense is. They don't really know that our over inflated offensive numbers have come against the weakest teams with gas cans as starting pitchers. Haven't done much of anything against the good teams with good pitching. Especially in June, as I think we're now a game below the .500 Mark.
  7. Good call (fake) ghost runner doesn't count toward ERA. Never thought I'd hate that rule as much as I do
  8. Should be a tie game still...agree with other poster: ghost runner is a clown show. Fake baseball indeed.
  9. Pomeranz picked a bad day to suck again...forgot all about the runners. WTF?
  10. Agree....effin' loathe it. That said, Shaw did the right thing by eating that....couldn't have rolled it out there any better. Now at least the DP is in play.
  11. He's struggling mightily, and it seems like every time I watch highlights on MLB network, Paredes is hitting it out again. Had another last night but did get hurt unfortunately. Just wanna sign Tucker, if he goes elsewhere in FA, that was a brutal trade.
  12. Indeed it was....wow, can't believe the SS didn't come home with that boys. That's a gift IMO
  13. Couldn't agree more....he HAS to know somebody up high in the Cubs organization. He sucks.
  14. I think this is his 4th appearance in 5 days....he's tired fer crissakes
  15. Yep.....don't really know who's available but it'll cost us a couple of our prize prospects to do it so I'd VERY much prefer it not be a rental. Don't wanna trade Moises either. I know he's blocked for now but he can rake.
  16. I have no idea about the guy on the left but the guy on the right looks a helluva lot like Manny Sanguillen of the Pirates. Just a gut feeling but someone will come in the thread to confirm one way or the other
  17. As for today's game I'd love to see PCA and Nico and even Dansby make Skenes field his position. Lay some bunts down and see if the big man can get off the mound and handle his business.
  18. Funny how that can work. I said to myself while watching the game: "This kid is gonna hit another HR against this mofo" and low and behold he did. Doesn't happen too often obviously.
  19. I think you're spot on Bull....let's face it, we see this every year with contenders and no big deals are made in June and for good reason. Deadline will be huge....need another starter and another BP arm if possible.
  20. Gore would be great IMO....but I'd sure think the Nats would want a great deal for him obviously. Love our depth and talent in Iowa but let's face it, Moises is blocked and to some extent so is Caissie so....yeah.
