  1. Let's just say this ended up being a brilliant move. Shockingly brilliant. what did they get in return and why so brilliant? Two defensive linemen. Round 3, Pick 4 (68) (From Seahawks) Jarron Gilbert DE 6'5" 288 San Jose State Pick Analysis:The Bears look to beef up their interior with the selection of Gilbert. A bit of an underachiever, Gilbert has the size and athleticism to develop into a quality interior rusher. With Rod Marinelli as the team's defensive line coach, the Bears may hit on the "boom or bust" prospect. Round 4, Pick 5 (105) (From Seahawks) Henry Melton DE 6'3" 260 Texas Pick Analysis:He's an athlete with speed. He had an unbelievable pro day, running a 4.65 in the 40-yard dash. He came into Texas as a highly regarded running back before eventually transitioning to defensive end two years ago. He's got a great first move in the pass rush and really good explosion. Melton is a project guy with huge upside.
  2. Has struggled with durability: torn knee ligaments and a subsequent staph infection forced him to redshirt the 2005 season. Had his knee scoped following the 2007 season for a possible torn meniscus. Struggled through the 2008 season with a recurring ankle sprain. that's a whole lot of red flags.
  3. Maybe we should stop doubting him this draft. lol
  4. I read somewhere that Robinson has weight/work ethic issues. From his bio at nfl.com "Robinson enrolled at Oklahoma in 2005. He was the line's "sixth man" as a true freshman, appearing in 10 games as a reserve offensive guard, but also saw action at left offensive tackle earlier in that season. Weight issues (played at 360 pounds, but was as much as 380) were the reason keeping him on the bench that year, but an intense 2006 offseason training program saw him arrive for fall camp 30 pounds lighter." He's at 329 now.
  5. lol, I was excited that ESPN actually had a highlight reel and breakdown ready for when Knox got drafted.
  6. Well, Kiper really liked him. I am not sure if that's a positive or not but there you go. Oh and I thought airese curry was from ACU but it was danielle manning.
  7. That may be the reason they drafted him. They felt they could wait until the next pick to get a OL.
  8. Johnny Knox (WR) Height: 6'0" Weight: 185 College: Abilene Christian Conference: Lone Star Hometown: Houston, TX High School: Channelview View Combine Page >> Combine Results: 40 Yard Dash : 4.34 seconds Vertical Jump : 35.0 inches Broad Jump : 122.0 inches 3 Cone Drill : 6.81 seconds 20 Yard Shuttle : 4.15 seconds
  9. OH NO ANOTHER WR FROM ABILENE CHRISTIAN!!!!!
  10. I am so tired of hearing about the wildcat. I can't believe teams draft people specifically for a play they only use several times a game.
  11. But isn't it likely they could get Melton in R5 (if not later)? Maybe there were a lot of other teams eying him, but still seem high. all it takes is one other team Yeah especially with a player like that where he has all of the physical skills in the world and they think they can mold him into a good pro. It's better to draft the guy a round early than a pick too late.
  12. The Chicago Commodores?
  13. They are preparing for next offseason. I also read a couple different places that he is a great special teams guy so another toy for dave toub.
  14. From NFL.com Round 4, Pick 5 (105) (From Seahawks) Henry Melton DE 6'3" 260 Texas Pick Analysis:He's an athlete with speed. He had an unbelievable pro day, running a 4.65 in the 40-yard dash. He came into Texas as a highly regarded running back before eventually transitioning to defensive end two years ago. He's got a great first move in the pass rush and really good explosion. sounds like that might have been the case tfarks.
  15. They said he was a DT :-s
  16. So NFL.com's info on him. "There is no overview about this Prospect at this time."
  17. Jesus the cowboys make a pick and they go into a 15 minute in depth analysis.
  18. Having satellite tv and trying to watch the draft over the last two days has really been hit or miss. :x
  19. I'll take a Derrick Mason on the Bears. Yes please.
  20. This has been a weird few months as a Bears fan, actually enjoying the moves they've made. It's definitely a nice changeup from normal Chicago sports...
