  1. Canseco/McGwire with slightly less power. A lot less steroids too.
  2. ESPN talked about this yesterday. They said that Ozzie received over 500 e-mails after the game 1 loss to the Indians and that he said the messages were messages of support. That's a big lie and there is no way it was true...
  3. I love how everyone in the Chicago media was talking about how yesterday saved the season and how it put a nail into the Indians' coffin. Then they come back today and get rocked.
  4. He's the best hitter in the game today and one of the top 2-3 of all time.
  5. Let me go take a look at how Piniella structures his line ups and I'll get back to you on that. -young guy he has no choice on -young guy who outplayed an old guy -Huff -Old guy -youngish guy who hustles -old guy who's blocking a top prospect -old guy -K Gonz -Random DH :P At least he plays the young guy that outplays the old guy...
  6. well, duh. what other explanation would there be? Dusty's actuallly been batting for Murton all this time. He stole TLR's hologram device. Duh!! That explains why Matt had been performing so well in the peak of summer!!
  7. I agree with the post above and with tree. The thing I find most amusing about the pledge is that after the huge debate went on about it, they made it a law that everyone in a public school had to say it every day. Before then we never had to do the pledge in my high school. That annoyed me for the rest of the year...
  8. You can check out the thread in baseball about that article. It pretty much sums up my thoughts on that piece.
  9. That article applies to being written by a braindead author.
  10. You're just jealous. Of the fact that Nolasco struck you out? That's hardly something to be proud of.
  11. As the elder statesman of that group, it would ensure that you would hit leadoff too. But I hit leadoff in HS. And I'm really fast. Plus Nolasco walked and struck you out. That's a .500 OBP. Actually, forget about Dunn, we should just sign you.
  12. I would go with Dunn as well. He is a better player right now and his ceiling is much higher than that of Wilkerson. He is still only 24-25 years old and could really put up some huge numbers in the future. Say what you will about his strikeouts or his inability to hit a sac fly, I will take his power and patience at his age any day of the week. The only thing that would make me take Wilkerson is the fact that he can play right and Dunn really should stick to left field. Although, with Dunn's production I would be fine with having Murton in right...
  13. I believe they are the aforementioned gremlins that Goony was referring to. 8) Close enough. :D
  14. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_120413.jpghttp://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_150197.jpg They beg to differ.
  15. We've tried leprechauns the last two years and it didn't work. I say we go a different route this upcoming year.
  16. wilkerson strikes out alot but he also walks alot 106 bb/152 k's in 04. Sarcasm is fun. Sulley loves walks so much his first born's name is going to be B.B. That was lame. :P
  17. Wow, if that's what the Cubs do this offseason I am going to be very upset/disappointed (which I think is going to happen anyways).
  18. I'm not a fan of having Novoa in the bullpen next year...
  19. I thought Aardsma was supposed to be prjected as a quality BP arm. I'm I wrong? That was the story at the time of the trade, however, his numbers in West Tenn did not impress me: 33 G 50.6 IP 43 K 32 BB .259 AVG against 3.91 ERA Not a dominant K rate, awful walk rate. His numbers were much, much better than that but he has some pretty bad outtings in the last month to month and a half of the season.
  20. I would gladly trade Walker + Hill for Hunter + Crain; and then turn around and spin Hunter + cash + Brian Dopirak to Florida for Juan Pierre. Crain is an excellent reliever. So, let me get this straight. You'd trade Todd Walker, Rich Hill, Brian Dopirak and cash for Jesse Crain and Juan Pierre? The Cubs are getting ripped off big time there. Todd Walker is unneeded (Cedeno), Rich Hill is a one-trick pony, and Dopirak looks like a bust. In exchange, I get a leadoff man and a setup man for my bullpen. Yeah, I'd do those trades. Cubs aren't getting ripped off at all. A top 5 offensive 2B is always needed. Whether or not Hill or Dope look like they'll pan out doesn't mean to throw them into any deal. Pierre is awful, his OBP is like 12 points lower than Hunter's this year. But he can run really fast and bunt a lot!!

It really depends on how much money they are tossing in. If they are throwing in just a little bit I think they should at least toss in Pie and EPatt/Gallagher. (Not being sarcastic, I would take Hunter over Pierre in a second)
  22. But if you look at the big picture it makes Barrett look worse defensively!! BTW, does it scare anybody else that Dusty gives Hendry a list of players that he wants?
  23. It's mandatory for any thread so Neifi and Macias plz.
  24. So is Len actually giving us a shoutout or not?
