  1. That's cause the league doesn't know him yet. Once the league knows him, he will be lucky to get a double.
  2. http://community.webshots.com/myphotos?action=viewAllPhotos&albumID=257990308 link to that photo album. btw, they won't block the view from the bleachers, that brings in a couple million a year for the team.
  3. From the Cubs convention: http://image28.webshots.com/29/1/66/33/258016633NmLeRI_ph.jpg http://image28.webshots.com/29/1/70/17/258017017ITlwdD_ph.jpg http://image34.webshots.com/35/1/82/33/258018233HktECg_ph.jpg http://image30.webshots.com/30/1/87/51/258018751YcEkUA_ph.jpg http://image32.webshots.com/32/1/91/82/258019182ixslhp_ph.jpg Sorry they are a blurry, it was really hard to take pics in the room because it was a bit dark. I thought that the drawings of the bleachers looked really good and the outside of the bleachers looks WAY better than it does now. The thing that I worry about is that horrible building they want to put next to the park. It doesn't fit in at all. It looks like something that Mies van der Rohe would draw up.
  4. Reggie Wayne agrees with you.
  5. I wonder if LaRoche is going to be on the Southern League list as well. :D
  6. I was thinking of what happens in football. If a team loses some big name players then they can get a compensatory pick at the end of a round depending on how important of players they were.
  7. We might be able to get a compensatory pick if he leaves, though.
  8. WHAT HAPPENED TO ZAMBRANO?!!!!!?!!!!! He'll be penciled into right when we get there. :D
  9. Chad Johnson Terrell Owens Ray Lewis Randy Moss Rodney Harrison I would put them in that order. Rodney doesn't trash talk that much (especially now with his injury) due to the fact that the Patriots don't do any of that.
  10. I'm not really a fan of resigning Nomar or signing Furcal. I wouldn't mind seeing a middle infield of Cedeno and Walker but I don't think that is going to happen. I know that the Devil Rays have been hesitant about playing Cantu in the past, do they still feel that way after the huge year he had this year? What about Julio Lugo? Does his future with the team depend on what they do with Upton? I wouldn't mind having either of those players start for the Cubs at SS/2B along with Cedeno (i'm assuming that Walker is going to be traded to someone). edit: from Lugo's espn profile. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?playerId=4290 So much for that idea. :(
  11. You have to put the bat on the ball. When they say Neifi is good at DP's they are not kidding...offensively and defensively. Speaking of which, http://www.baseballprospectus.com/statistics/sortable/index.php?cid=48867 Hooray, 5th worst rate.
  12. The difference is that Vlad is good and actually does something when he swings. Unlike Neifi.
  13. coughsteroidscough It probably also has something to do with the level of conditioning and medical attention that the players get now. The diagnosis and treatment of injuries has really improved over the last 50 or so years.
  14. The Cubs are now in a tie for the 13th overall pick. The teams in the 11-18 pick area are really bunched up though.
  15. Here are the Chiefs related questions from the chat. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/chat/050926jc.html
  16. NOOOOOO.... I'm the White Sox version of this contest.
  17. Way to go Macias. I can definately see why you deserve a roster spot and a start in the leadoff spot.
  18. I'm pretty sure that every pitcher has problems in the first couple of innings several times over the course of a year. You just notice it with the Cubs because you watch or follow almost all of their games every year.
  19. Hendry isn't going anywhere.
  20. no.....
  21. And not only in beisbolero jargon is he like utility, but his arm is educated and affluent. I wish I had an affluent and educated arm.
  22. But Palmeiro tested positive for stanozol, which is not B-12. The implication, I think, is that there was more than B-12 in the injection Tejada gave him, making Tejada a cheat and a liar. Basically, it's Raffy grasping at straws and smearing his teammate in the process, IMO. Really quite bush. Except for the fact that they tested the B-12 that he had and there wasn't anything except vitamins in it.
  23. Because Corey hasn't mastered the slap bunt yet.
