  1. Finally, the Cubs are showing signs of wanting to win! I do not believe this is the last signing of the off-season either. Good for Hendry, good for the Cubs and I will stay in the minority that I am happy regardless of the money and years! GO CUBS!
  2. Put him in Cubbie blue please!
  3. I wonder how Lou felt about Lugo since he played for him at Tampa? The latest from Rosenthal
  4. Perhaps this is the wrong spot to post this... rotoworld.com But I thought it was hilarious.
  5. I don't think anyone here cares about batting average. You might as well cite his shoe size. $20 says Craig Wilson has a better OBP than Derosa next year, smart guy. Don't waste your $20
  6. What? Craig Wilson? The same Craig Wilson that sat on the Yankee bench at the end of the season? Wilson's 06 numbers: AVG .251 | HR 17 | RBI 49 | OBP .314 | SLG .446 jackassical. throw away six years of outstanding stick work because of 100 abs after becoming a Yankee. I still don't think we are talking about the same Craig Wilson, perhaps you know of one that I am not aware of. 2001 .310 in 88 games 2002 .264 in 131 games 2003 .262 in 116 games 2004 .264 in 155 games 2005 .264 in 59 games 2006 .212 in 40 games (yankees) 2006 .267 in 85 games (pirates) So to summarize, his highest average is in 1/2 a season. Overall career numbers total ... .265 Not sure I would call that "outstanding stick work"
  7. I guess you missed Sunday, when everyone was oh-so-critical of Aramis and Kerry re-signing. Nope, I was around! Good signing on both ends!
  8. What? Craig Wilson? The same Craig Wilson that sat on the Yankee bench at the end of the season? Wilson's 06 numbers: AVG .251 | HR 17 | RBI 49 | OBP .314 | SLG .446
  9. What is this garbage? Why can't a person be critical of a signing that sends lots of money to a utility player who is reportedly going to try and be the everyday 2B without being accused of always being critical? Do you seriously not see the potential downside risk to this signing? It's at least as strong as any upside opportunity. The point it simple, it appears some posters favorite pastime is being critical of anything and everything the Cubs do. If that is ones style, more power to you.
  10. Much, much better than Cedeno! Anyone verify where he hit in the order? I thought he hit 5th most of the year?
  11. You didn't break it last night? Nope, I didn't even take it off the wall. (thankfully) Kinda like not throwing the picture of a hot girlfriend you used to have and now your back together :)
  12. Uh, nevermind the game used autographed bat I offered up last night.
  13. Anyone for a beautiful game used autographed bat signed by the newest free agent himself? High quality wall-hanging display case included.
  14. Vernon Wells and JD Drew in the OF I see ya bud.. I see ya!
  15. All in favor of David Bell at 3rd and ARod at SS? That would settle nice after this kick to the crotch.
  16. Don't call me "bro." Last time I checked that was not offensive.
  17. How often does a team that loose exclusive rights end up resigning the player. I can't think of one time with a big name player. I still hope Hendry gets this done and it get announced tomorrow. With Rosey and others claiming it's over for the Cubs how does one believe a deal will be announced tomorrow? I don't buy it, I think ARam gave Hendry and Co. plenty of time to make a deal. We did nothing but sign W.Miller and place a bid on the Japanese dude. Either Kinzer/ARam ended up wanting Beltran type numbers or Hendry wants to move in a different direction. A direction that leads to another losing season.
  18. This outcome actually makes me very skeptical about the hometown discount reports. How so bro?
  19. The same GM that traded Jose Hernandez and two minor leagures for ARam watches him walk out the door fully knowing he had a home-town discount. Unbelievable, just unbelievable. Oh, and apperantly this is the last of Kerry Wood as well?
  20. Although I loved Alou when he was in Cubbie blue just a few years ago, I am in no way wanting him back. He is old, will not play more than 100 games this year. He belongs in the AL as a DH. I'll pass on Sheff as well!
  21. This is sure to excite the Philly fans! - rotoworld.com
  22. He made 30 starts and threw 211 innings in 2003. He was on the DL that year too. Which means he has never pitched in a full season without being hurt. Plenty of people who aren't hurt throw less than 30 starts or 211 IP. It's really nitpicking to say he didn't pitch a full season. So he was drafted in 2001 and he's kind-of pitched one full big league season. I think that qualifies as a big-time bust. Especially since it looks like he yet AGAIN won't pitch a full season in 2007. I know I'm ready to cut the cord with the guy. Couldn't agree more! Both Prior and Wood need to get out of Chicago and try to resurrect their careers elsewhere. Good Riddance!
