  1. oh well.... At least they scored... This game would have been much closer had the Seahawks not dropped the fricking ball and if the Ref's actually called a holding penalty on at least one of the countless number of plays that Jennings and Tillman committed. I will give you that Tillman took Williams out of the game for the most part but there was a lot of grabbing and holding all game. Even the most bias Bears fan would have to admit that. Although the PI call at the end was not even remotely close to how egregious it was in the 1st Quarter. The Bears played well. The Seahawks defense wasn't too bad overall. Too many big plays at the beginning but they kept it close by not allowing much in the 2nd half (yards and TOP sure but no points). The Seahawks were clearly the inferior team but they aren't as bad as people here seem to make it out to be. They have a good foundation on defense with a need of a better strong safety (Milloy is done and Chancellor is a beast but more of a hybrid LB than a safety - not fast enough) and better DB than Thurmond/Jennings. Offensive line needs major help but Okung is a stud and Locklear is OK at the tackles. Obviously they need a big play threat with speed but I think Golden Tate can be that player eventually. Well Coached team and not afraid to make some big personel changes. Depsite Harbaugh and Bradford, the Seahawks still have a bright future. Good Luck next week
  2. Ok so that PI was ridiculous. Perhaps a make up call for the non calls in the 1st quarter? Regardless horrible play calling from the 2 yard line though. Oh and to the comment about Hasselbeck whining more than Cutler. Not sure about more than but yes he does whine a lot. But moreso at his own players than anyone.
  3. congrats on almost finishing .500 this season. Exhibit A for Classless.
  4. for the record, thanks to those of you showing concern for injured players... And for those who say crap like "2nd Dead Seahawk" and so forth, stay classy. The guy is clearly injured badly. We are all humans, remember that is a person, not just a jersey.
  5. I wouldnt mind that. At least make the game something interesting
  6. Actually I didnt see the play but despite everything, I think I have been pretty fair here. There were a bunch of missed calls on the DB's that half but no conspiracy. The Seahawks still need to catch the damn ball
  7. You're right, it was clearly holding on the replay. jennings again held the hand and arm back. Ridiculous. Every play they are being held.
  8. Are you even watching this game? He is throwing it in perfect spots and the ball is going through the hands of the receivers (or they are being held). The ball is perfectly placed. He overshot two guys after the PI. Overshot Stokely and that last ball. No, the ball went threw stokely and Obonmanu's was well thrown where only he could have gotten it but he was held
  9. Because it was Tillman, not Jennings OHHHHHH On the 3rd down it was jennings on Obonmanu
  10. Are you even watching this game? He is throwing it in perfect spots and the ball is going through the hands of the receivers (or they are being held). The ball is perfectly placed.
  11. how as that not PI on Jennings? The guy couldn't even raise his back arm?
  12. The seahawks are getting hosed by the refs too. Bad enough to drop easily catchable balls and bad routes but now the refs are not calling 2 clear holds on the last drive.
  13. Ugh... so much for the bears to wake up slowly today. why cant a seahawk catch a perfectly thrown pass?
  14. ha, ha... well done. That pregame was awesome. Great crowd today despite the ticket comments earlier here. This is going to be fun
  15. is it odd wondering what a mental picture of me is? Kinda just hit me that no one really knows what each other look like and people likely have a wide ranging view as to what a seahawks fan looks like. For the record, I do not have my face painted today...
  16. Not unless you can beat GB, which you can't. But it would be played in Seattle should the Seahawks win today...so the game "rolls through Seattle" Perhaps my urbanspeak is missing this morning
  17. happy gameday morning all. Here's hoping Lofa will make it but other than that, it should be a fun game. Breaking out my Shaun Alexander road jersey for this one... Had a dream that the NFC championship game rolls through Seattle now...wouldn't that be wonderful
  18. From the Seahawks side, not having a 100% Tatupu Will be a huge issue. He is the run support (of Hawthorne) and the one linebacker we have that has any sort of cover skills for a player like Forte in the flat. If he is not 100% then expect a lot of Zone and a blitzing Aaron Curry (Better this year, but still not the best pash rushing LB). I can actually forsee some Trufant corner blitzes and Babineaux coming from Nickel Saftey. On Offense, they seem fairly loose from the interviews this week. Hass was on the Dan Patrick show this morning (great as always, he is geniunely a funny, easygoing guy) and something stuck out. He was asked why so inconsistent and Hass basically said that each game, the gameplans were different and in the blowouts particuarlly complicated. Sounds like Bates is still learning gameday prep and the offense has had a hard time adjusting. I think this might be a subtle advantage for the Seahawks since they have already seen this gameplan before. I am getting slightly more confident about this game compared to last week which is dangerous. They will have to play better than last week to win but I think its possible.
  19. People should just not post after 2 hours of sleep and a fussy 3 month old in your arms! UGH, I know I ramble at times but I was seriously incoherent this morning.... Anywho... backhanded compliment (?) or not, I still firmly believe the Seahawks have a chance here. With the Week off and the Seahawks having some momentum it is not outside of the realm of possibility that they get off to a quick start and the Bears will need to catch up. This might play into the Seahawks hands by taking Forte out of the mix some and forcing Cutler into some bad decisions. Obviously, it is also within the realm of possibility that the Bears come out poised and ready for football and to prove that they are the class of the NFC and stomp all over the clearly less talented team. I am holding out hope for the first scenario.
  20. Ok, we all aren't idiots, just enjoying some Saturday Hangover. Come on, switch roles one second and if the Bears pulled off what Seattle did you would be giddy too. Give it until at least Wednesday for some sense of realism hits. This was similar to last week after the Rams victory. But I guess I will start off with the "some semblance of respect" for the Bears. They have an excellent defense but can be picked on with a smart QB. Hasselbeck is a very smart QB. At the beginning of the season, I compared him to McNabb and in a lot of ways he is a similar QB. Not style wise but reputation wise. Hasselbeck can carry a team, get hot and take charge. He knows what he is doing and how to change to make an impact. He is bad when he forces things or gets frustrated by the lack of talent around him. One item of note is that this is as hard as I have seen the Seahawks play all year. On lynch's spectacular run, every player was running down to help. In the shot you see the league's worst guard (Polumbus) running with Hasselbeck. This was not seen all year until the final 2 games. It always seemed they had too much "fun" and not enough effort to finish games. Carroll brought the enthusiasm and finally the team brought the actual NFL plays. I am looking forward to this game. Seahawks Bears games are always fun on this board. Go Seahawks!
  21. This time last year Archer was what #14 on BA's list? A dominant season from someone like Simpson this year will make all forget Archer this time next year. For realistic trades (i.e. Not Gonzalez or Grienke) who else would the Cubs have traded Archer and Lee for? While it may be easy to say that Archer will continue to improve, isn't it similarly as likely that he regresses to a mid level option?
  22. Didn't know that making the playoffs, changes the draft order. Always that that was by record. Oh well. I was hoping some way Mallett would get to Seattle as that would be a better fit than Locker. Likely Seattle passes on a QB and takes a random OL.
  23. James Hall. He had a really good season and one that he probably won't come close to replicating in 2011. Yeah, I knew Long didn't sound right. I don't watch the Rams much, so other than Jackson and Bradford, I'm not good with names on that team. They kept on and on all game about how Hall was one of the young Rams to watch for and how he had a fabulous year and one of the best pash rushers in the game (?) Not sure how you missed it all. Of course, by the end of the game with Okung completely keeping him at bay with no ankles left, might have reduced the amount of talking about him. As a Seahawks fan, I am a bit irritated at the "boring" comment. But I am biased obviously. Looking objectively, I can see where it was ugly due to lack of big talent. But on the other hand, it was a sudden death football game and the Seahawks went for it, the Rams didnt. That's why it was boring. It should have felt more like a playoff game to the fans with "no dog in the fight". For all those who made fun of the Seahawks when Carroll was hired, eat crow (but not a full plate). I love the enthusiasm and fire. Its fun to watch and be a fan of a team with a leader like him and Matt Hasselbeck. I thought it was interesting to hear that Carroll is actually the 2nd oldest coach in the NFL behind Coughlin. Didnt realize that... Anywho...I will call it. Seahawks 24, Saints 21
  24. Reading this thread seems to be the perfect example of "Stat" type people discussing a player with an "Eyes" type player. Clearly watching Garza he has dominant pitcher type stuff and is an obvious upgrade. However, just as clearly for those that study advanced metrics, he is a 3-4th starter. Perhaps this is a good poll question for the board to get an idea of how many posters sit in which camp
