But your assumption of Management's thinking is also not an A=B. If the Cubs make the postseason, it still doesn't make the difference if you are looking at total wins. All moves are meant to make the team better. For all of our analysis and stat crunching and evaluation of management we forget that they are fans too and want to win just as much. If "taking the right direction" means 3 more years of futility, I don't think that is the right direction either. There has to be a happy medium and despite the struggles early this season, this team was created with the goal to contend and it was a contending team. There were holes, yes but not ones that could be overcome. The offseason is at least a month away. Lets wait until it happens to worry about it.
