  1. Matt Shaw has killed it . 24 year old 5 positions and 840 plus . Great Job Kudos to Brown and PCA
  2. Maybe your best piece ever bro . The Orioles under Weaver in 69-75 understood , what defensive dominance can mean , In a run prevention environment. . PCA is a difference maker in a unique way . A base eraser and rally killer . Sterling work . It’s appreciated.
  3. Zobrist Junior gettiing the hang of the “super sub “role . Conforto and catching depth lending to teams depth and Counsell ball .
  4. I am excited to see them find solutions, by having players take advantage of the opportunities adversity brings , along side your well described challenges . Today the execution of said implementation was spot on .i believe Counsell excels in this environment . Informative and interesting work . . You do Prospectus proud .
  5. Speaks to his work ethic and teams development plans . Informative piece . Thank You .
  6. The Rise of the super sub , crush it Shaw . The offense is hitting it’s overdue positive regression to its underlying metrics .
  7. Thoughtful piece for opening day . You are always pointing to the why and what if . This definitely enhances my fan experience.
  8. The Cubs , from vets to pickups , seem to be having success in velocity enhancement. Is this outside sourced or in house ? I imagine a synergistic combo . Great work MT
  9. Feeling a bit sick , the article and comments perked me up . As usual well thought out and intriguing.
  10. Awesome stuff, fits with the technical and mental points , that Bergman has been counseling him on .
  11. That he is as far down on the depth chart as prognosticators have him , Is an excellent sign for the Cubs ability to navigate the 162 game marathon .
  12. What are the pros and cons of an arm slot change , as specific to Browns arsenal.
  13. Well thought out response . I had similar thoughts . The Cubs continue to close the depth gap , while fielding 3 WAR players at most positions . The Author , clued us into this gap in depth , over a year ago . The Cubs organization has mitigated some weaknesses in a consistent and incremental fashion .
  14. Your pieces , elicit the same anticipation as the Wednesday Sporting News arrival did In my Youth . I use them as resources during the year .
  15. The gap between the Brewers and Cubs was rooted in PD . The depth of the Brewers 40 man and 26 man gave them an advantage every year . The Cubs have closed that gap to where the pitching Department ( Zombro Tread …) have improved via targeted acquisitions and maximized value, through specified development means , This has supplied usable pitching depth . Thr Position side had a record year with a myriad of 3 war players and now has a chance to have a bench that can sustain quality performances, over the 162 game grind . The Depth void is being filled and the work is ongoing .
  16. Is this the Deepest 40 man roster and group of minor league contact signings the cubs have pieced together , since HOF JM was the skipper ?
  17. Insightful and informative. Did not realize this had been implemented. I agree with your premise’s. I have thought for a bit , the budget was going to trail only . lA , the big Apples , and Tor and Philly . With a signing like Gallen ,being the lynchpin . Soild piece
  18. Solid analysis , spring Performance, Health and roster flexibility ( minor league options ) , will play a large part in the decision making process . Thoughtful, contextual work . We appreciate it .
