  1. I think your thought process is on the right tracks . The train will threaten to leave the Cubs at the station . But threading the needle with a cost controlled future asset, who also increases team odds in 26 , is exactly how they should approach the deadline. The cost as you intimate , is the key to unlocking the door . The Three pitchers are all realistic, and diverse options . A wide net , with the knowledge of possible match differences, is both articulated well here and also speaks to the process that can lead to the sort of transaction the team needs .
  2. Sent this to my brothers who were athletes at Cal and Stanford . A pair of acerbic economics wizards , who loved this piece . Not a small accomplishment. They appreciate your statistical arbitrage in forming an analysis.
  3. This made my day , after a tough loss . What a metamorphosis.. Fascinating byproduct of an improved process . If you published twice a day , I would not cry .
  4. Your analysis, reminds me of The book Big Data . In the following way . The Pirates put a “ center field “ level defender in left, in that huge area of the park . I am not trying to make a one for one comparison, However I do think based on what you wrote on positioning and AB skill level . The Cubs have essentially , two shortstop level players covering the line through the middle . Awesome work again .
  5. Think Busch , on offense and as an age breakout comp.
  6. What other Cubs pitchers , rank at least solidly on this scale . Nice work .
  7. The Team is hands down the best on defense in The League . Busch and Seyia improvements and adding Bergman , with Shaw as a super Sub , has improved the team that won last years team GG Elite D has kept shaky staff afloat . I love the metric driven breakdown . You are the best I have read , in this style of analysis .
  8. It’s like we are back in “Moneyball” , with undervalued pitching replacing hitting . I look forward to your coverage . Each piece is well thought out and creative .
  9. Such a forward thinking piece . I look forward to charting his process . Thank you
  10. Matt Shaw has killed it . 24 year old 5 positions and 840 plus . Great Job Kudos to Brown and PCA
  11. Maybe your best piece ever bro . The Orioles under Weaver in 69-75 understood , what defensive dominance can mean , In a run prevention environment. . PCA is a difference maker in a unique way . A base eraser and rally killer . Sterling work . It’s appreciated.
  12. Zobrist Junior gettiing the hang of the “super sub “role . Conforto and catching depth lending to teams depth and Counsell ball .
  13. I am excited to see them find solutions, by having players take advantage of the opportunities adversity brings , along side your well described challenges . Today the execution of said implementation was spot on .i believe Counsell excels in this environment . Informative and interesting work . . You do Prospectus proud .
  14. Speaks to his work ethic and teams development plans . Informative piece . Thank You .
