  1. Rumors have Davidson looking for center help.
  2. Thrilled to have college basketball back!
  3. Stop it before you two speak this into existence.
  4. Neither of us know their earning projections, but that is also why your same math argument doesn't work. Soto isn't going to be the last $600 million player. Nor is that contract going to look near as bad later on down the road given even modest earning projections. What it comes down to is that at some point the Cubs either need to get an elite level hitter and they can do that by either having deeper pockets in free agency, finding a trade partner, or drafting one. What some of us are saying is that the opportunity is there and we want to see the Cubs take it.
  5. And a $600 million contract today won't be the same as an $800 million contract in 5 more years.
  6. There was a time not long ago when Bryce Harper was considered too s'pensive for the Cubs. Five years and a NL MVP and NLCS MVP award later and the deal doesn't look so bad. Juan Soto won't be the last $600 million player. Eventually a big market team has to act like a horsefeathers big market team. We're talking about a 26 year old superstar and a team that hasn't won over 90 games since 2018. There's zero reason not to pay that man to play his home games at Wrigley.
  7. I would in turn put substantial money down that its the unused wood left from 2015's renovation.
  8. Don't know where else to put this, but it is football related. I'll be in Indianapolis for the Bills game in two weeks. Anyone familiar with the city have any restaurant recommendations? I know of St. Elmo's and we're planning to go there.
  9. Richardson has got to get Foligno off of Bedard's line.
  10. I have tried my best to like Seth Jones and not hold his contract against him but I'm over it.
  11. Hawks are going to be competitive in most games this year. It just isn't going to reflect much in the overall record. Teuvo's early chemistry with Bedard is exciting. He could be looking at a career best season.
  12. Blackouts need to die. If you pay for it you should be able to watch it regardless of where you are.
  13. What a way to lose tonight and spoil an exceptional start from Soderblom. lol

    NFL Week 6

Saleh won't be unemployed for long.
  15. Davidson wanted to make roster spots competitive. Korchinski wasn't ready for NHL action last season. Nazar also had not played at the pro level. It sucks from a fan standpoint but they are taking the right approach with them. No need to rush our prospects to the NHL. It's impossible to make it a full season without injuries so we will see them in Chicago sooner than later.
  16. They couldn't have put Utah? lol Sports broadcasting is getting messy. I just want one place where I can watch all of my teams without blackouts. I am willing to pay for it!
  17. We get hockey tomorrow!
  18. I had so much hope for Domask to help the Salukis get back into the tournament.
  19. This problem is two-fold. It's likely as much behind-the-scenes budget constraints as it is a front office that is too conservative, too afraid to part with their precious chips, too afraid to cash them in, take a risk, and go big. They're the perfect marriage, unfortunate for us fans.
  20. I am honestly happy to see them taking their time with Nazar and also giving more time to Korchinski to develop. He showed promise last year but was too often times overmatched. He got thrown into the fire last year out of circumstance and at no fault of his own. We will see both of them in Chicago this season at some point. Reichel has to be on his final opportunity here. Still only 22, but he's got to show something. I want to believe in him but I'm losing my faith.
  21. Kyle deserved that. If this is it for him, thank you Professor and we'll see you again when you get your blue jacket. 👏
  22. Tuning in today to see future Cubs Hall of Famer Kyle Hendricks channel some vintage Professor.
  23. This was the first season in a long time that I never made it to Wrigley not even once.
  24. Just want to shoutout Andy for putting these threads together every week for us. Your work is much appreciated my friend!
