I actually became a fan of Aramis when he was still with the Pirates. I had a pretty heated debate once with another fan over who the better 3rd basemen was at the time, Aramis or Tony Batista. The day that we traded for him is one of the most memorable days that I have ever had as a Cubs fan. I was beating the drum for him being exactly what the Cubs needed, but given his age and talent, I never dreamed Pittsburgh would part with him. Woke up on July 23, 2003 and logged onto the computer to see the news. I was absolutely floored, like I had somehow spoke it into existence. From that day until he left he was my favorite Cub and second only to Dawson as my all-time favorite.
