Coco and Rybakina both out in Cincinnati today. Sabalenka and Swiatek, neither one, are playing their best. The men will be the usual suspects, but the women are shaping up for a wide open US Open. I'm seriously considering hitting the Andreeva (+2600) and Paolini (+3000) futures lines.

I really hope we see the US women at Wrigley when we come back home, given the obvious connection. I would love to see the Cubs celebrate their win like they did with the Blackhawks in 2010.

I actually became a fan of Aramis when he was still with the Pirates. I had a pretty heated debate once with another fan over who the better 3rd basemen was at the time, Aramis or Tony Batista. The day that we traded for him is one of the most memorable days that I have ever had as a Cubs fan. I was beating the drum for him being exactly what the Cubs needed, but given his age and talent, I never dreamed Pittsburgh would part with him. Woke up on July 23, 2003 and logged onto the computer to see the news. I was absolutely floored, like I had somehow spoke it into existence. From that day until he left he was my favorite Cub and second only to Dawson as my all-time favorite. -

Tennis has recently gotten rid of line judges in favor of a fully-automated line calling system. Aside from a few kinks to work out, it has largely been a success. It's time for baseball to do the same.

Rec leagues are full of lunatics. A former teammate of mine was arrested for kicking a guy in the head during a game. Ironically, he's coaching junior A now.

Being 3rd on the list surprises me a bit, but I've always felt Happ has been one of the most under appreciated players across the league.

I don't know the political leanings of my Venezuelan friends, only that they all three voted against Maduro like the majority of the country did, and quite honestly it doesn't matter what their individual views are. You have made it painfully clear that you either do not have the first clue what is going on down there or you just don't care because the will of the people isn't what you want.

I have tried to remain civil here in spite of your buffoonish takes, but it's getting difficult. My friends don't fear hunger because I have sent them money for food. They have had their water shut off. Electricity shut off. People dragged from their buildings after being snitched on for opposing the election results. One has had her pay withheld since the election and doesn't know if she will receive it at all. None of what you said has a single thing to do with the fact that these people VOTED MADURO OUT AND ARE BEING FORCED AGAINST THEIR WILL TO ACCEPT A FRAUDULENT ELECTION! You dense stooge!

I have mentioned more than once in this thread that I have three very good friends in Venezuela right now. What you are reading about the election being fraudulent is 100% true. Maduro didn't just lose the election, he was crushed, and then implemented an operation to arrest people in their own homes and charge them as terrorists for simply opposing the election results. This is the account that each friend has given me. To be blunt, your posts in this thread are sickening to read. My friends are suffering and are afraid of being imprisoned for simply questioning a clearly fraudulent election and for wanting to be free of the tyrant that's oppressing them.
