  1. I bet Cleveland's pitching coach has to be sick right now...
  2. Got to win it now knowing Kwan will begin at 2nd in the 11, with Ramirez going to the plate.
  3. I think it's ridiculous he is out for tonight's game, but let's hope the Cubs can take advantage of a bullpen game for Cleveland...
  4. Horton threw a non-competitive first pitch for a ball. Let's hope he doesn't get investigated by a gambling company because some guy name Joe in Connecticut or Arizona put $30,000 dollars on that pitch to be a ball.
  5. Don't believe there will be any tough starters the Cubs will have to play against. Cleveland: Williams, Bibbee, and Ortiz (Cleveland is struggling) STL: Mikolas, Liberatore, and Fedde MIN: Woods-Richardson, Festa, and Ober Yankees will be tough: Rodon, Fried, and Warren. (Assuming no postponements and pitchers getting skipped/moved back). No reason Cubs can't win 8 of their final 12 games.
  6. Can't believe people are criticizing Counsell for leaving Taillon in the game... I'm not mad about him leaving Taillon in the game, even if he gave up that homer.
  7. People saying that he is sucks because Houston fouled off pitches is weird. Give credit for Houston for doing something that is a lost art in the game today...
  8. Agreed, I think the biggest question overall is how will everything impact the "salary floor/cap" and how the Dodgers will operate. I know everyone have different opinions on how MLB should operate when it comes to salaries, but I don't believe we should have deferrals, that's just my opinion. If we do, then it should be only a certain percent of a player salary should be deferred.
  9. I don't think it's a "potential" lockout anymore, I think it's coming. I just hope that doesn't sway Ricketts to go in a different direction. Just enjoy as much baseball for 2025 and 2026 as we possibly can, because I don't think we're going to get much in 2027, which is the All-Star game at Wrigley.
  10. But what if Shaw has a productive career? But the same logic is what happened to PCA/Baez trade. Look at the Padres/Nationals trade with Soto and Abrams/Wood. If we're not wanting to pay Tucker $400-$500 Million, then I feel bad for Jed because he's limited because Ricketts is not willing to open the check book.
  11. Watching Phillies/Braves: There's a report in the athletic that MLB has told umpires to tighten up their zone. There's a data/analytic called "strikes looking above average" meaning they call more strikes to the "average" umpire. Last season, there were 40 umpires. This season, there are 3 umpires that went into the positive. Meaning, the strike zones are smaller this season.
  12. We win trades like Rizzo for Cashner and PCA for 4-5 months of Baez. We lost trades like Cease/Eloy for Quintana. It happens, but we're also 80+ games after this trade, let's wait til we're 300-500 games before we make a decision on the beneficiary of the trade...
  13. Cardinals are going to have to find a polarizing player that comes up through the minors. Every team in the NL Central basically has a stud pitcher and/or position player, and they're young. NL Central is going to fun for years to come, if Pittsburgh can get their act together.
  14. Just wished the runner at 2nd collided with Arenado and take the 1 out intentionally right there.
  15. Baseball's are juiced. I know it's hot in the country right now, but going out front and hitting that ball 5-8 rows up in the stands raised my eyebrows.
  16. Weird series indeed. Not putting much stock into this series because Seattle does have good pitching, but also the wind isn't going to blow out like that in October. Well, the chances of it aren't.
  17. Curious: Who was that tall guy that hit a few home runs in spring training? He's around 6 foot 7/8 inches tall. I can't remember his name. Point being: I am relocating to Knoxville in a few weeks, so I am trying to figure out who he is. I did noticed he is not on the Cubs top 30 prospects according to mlb.com.
  18. Boston maybe 4th in the AL East at 37-36, but they are only .5 games(ish) out of the wildcard. I don't believe they're selling. I just believe they got tired of Devers. Not happy with being DH, not willing to play 1B, and came out stating he was a 3rd baseman even though Bergman is the better 3rd baseman. I just believe Boston said enough. While I don't believe the return is great from San Francisco, getting off of his contract for that many and above $30 Million for each season, I think Boston would be happy for that.
  19. Man, Shaw took a pitch right down the middle, and swung at a curveball at the chalk near his feet the next pitch....
