  1. Probably haven't been this amped for a series since the Detroit series. Good thing is we have a better umpiring crew for this series than the ones at Detroit.
  2. I'll go ahead and say my final needs: (1): A pitcher that can start Game 1 or 2 of a playoff series. I prefer Ryan, but not sure if the Twins will trade him. I love the Cabrera/Alcantara combo because of stuff. I wouldn't mind Keller either, but not sure if Cubs would want to trade Caissie in division. (2): Suarez: I would trade for Suarez even if Shaw is red hot as of late. It lengthens the lineup, and improve the bench, and it'll keep teams like Milwaukee and Philadelphia away from getting Suarez. (3): Bullpen. I'll go after another difference maker like Classe or Duran. But, if the Cubs don't want them, then I'll go after a specific lefty that can get guys like Harper/Schwarber and Ohtani/Freeman out in October. (4): Another batter that can come off the bench and produce. Not sure who that'll be, but the bench needs to get better. If we can get two of those options, I'll be thrilled. Doubt we will get 3 of those 4.
  3. This team cannot beat Phillies/Dodgers with the current rotation, even if Assad and Taillon coming back.
  4. Yeah, I know some people aren't biggest Boog fan, but he's better than Cohen. Don't believe Cohen should be his replacement.
  5. Cohen doesn't know the difference between interference and obstruction is pretty bad for a MLB announcer.
  6. Brewers with the tying run on base at 2nd. 2-1 Marlins Bottom 8 0 out
  7. I wonder that, too. I don't think they'll trade their players with the way they're playing as of late. I think they'll eventually sell, but they have the Cardinals next...
  8. Im watching. Top 7 Miami up 2-1 with runners on 1st and 2nd, 1 out.
  9. Another valid point. I'll take him just to keep him away from Milwaukee.
  10. I am okay with trading Caissie to Minnesota for Ryan + Duran or to Miami for Alcantara + Cabrera. Only reason why for those two teams because I believe the return is good enough to get rid of Caissie. If Arizona offers the Cubs Suarez + Kelly, then I would rather not offer Caissie because I don't believe the return would be as high profile as the other two teams. Suarez has been red hot, but he is also known to be ice cold for a long stretch of time as well. Something tells me Cubs may not go after Suarez as much because of Shaw's recent play. I know some people may not be a fan of acquiring Alcantara because of the season he is having, and that's fine. However, if the pitching staff/front office see something in Alcantara and believes this mechanical tweak can upgrade his performance, then sign me up. He still has good stuff. For Washington and McKenzie Gore, I would take him, but I am not sure if Washington would want Caissie because they have a surplus of outfielders.
  11. Would Birdsell be enough for Suarez? Straight up. I noticed Arizona wants pitching in return..
  12. Are the Brewers good? Yes. But I don't believe they're "that good" For some reason, LA Dodgers aren't playing good baseball, and the Brewers benefited from that with scheduling. Dodgers were swept by Houston the series prior to the first Milwaukee series. Even though Dodgers took 2 out of 3 against San Francisco last weekend, they only won a game 2-1 and played a 5-2 game in 11 innings where they scored 3 runs in that 11th inning. So, obviously, they only scored 4 runs in their last 18 innings to end the first half. I think it's the more about Dodgers playing bad baseball than Brewers playing good baseball. Cubs took 2 out of 3 against a team a team that won 10 straight heading into the all-streak is more impressive than a team (MIL) sweeping an opponent (LAD) that went 2-7 in their 9 games heading in the break. That's just my opinion.
  13. I'm going to it, don't know how high my seats are, but at least there is a concert before the game.
  14. The whole event has changed. The home run derby has went from an evening event to making sure the event ends in 2-2.5 hours. The Josh Hamilton home run derby at the old Yankee Stadium will always be magical. I don't mind the pregame festivities as much, but strongly disagree with the selection progress. Christopher Sanchez should 100% be in over Jacob Misioroski. And the Cubs should have more than 3 players in the event. The MVP of the first half shouldn't be batting 9th.
  15. I agree. I wasn't a big fan of Jed at first but he is growing on me. I believe he does deserve an extension.
  16. What's exciting about this deadline is the expiration of Jed and Carter's contracts. We're going to see some desperation. All hands on deck.
  17. If Saint Louis gets Doyle from Tennessee, then every NL Central team is going to have a dominant arm.
  18. I think they need another solid reliever as well. Doesn't have to be a closer, but Griffin Jax (using him as an example) I think will be perfect.
  19. Twins starters have gone 10 combined innings pitch with 131 pitches. Cubs starters have gone 11.2 combined innings with 177 pitches.
  20. I want Suarez but I know there will be a bidding war with Cubs and Yankees to get him. I would love Austin Riley but there's no way Atlanta is getting rid of him. Heck, Braves still believe they're buyers.
