  1. Why would the Padres accept a trade that’s headlined around Triantos? If you don’t include Morel, we are probably looking at a package that’s Alcantara+. Which I would still probably do but with Morel, you are looking at lesser prospects inclusion.
  2. Even guys like Montero were probably a net positive.
  3. Not sure where this Nightengale stuff is coming from but he legit just said yesterday Soto was most likely to be traded this off-season.
  4. Jed doesn’t need to say whether or not Ross will be back next year when Ricketts already did it for him.
  5. Imagine thinking giving Juan Soto 400 million is an albatross, regardless of where he plays.
  6. I expect two of guys like Canario, Alcantara, Triontos and Caissie to not be in the organization next year. Now is the time to use the minor league you built over the past two years and flip them into major league proven talent. We don’t have room for all those guys, especially if we think Shaw will be up at some point in 2024. I’ve seen Jose Ramirez floated around on twitter, he would be the dream scenario for me. I am sure other names will be rumored abound but it would sure be nice to have an Arenado or Goldschmidt type become available and fall into our laps like it did for the Cardinals. There are other ways to make splashes other than spending money.
  7. This is extremely dramatic. They aren’t slashing payroll, come on. Many were saying they didn’t want to go over the luxury tax at the deadline because they are planning on going over it next year. I guess time will tell but it would be ugly PR for them to even have a similar off-season to last year. They have to go big name hunting, probably through trades.
  8. It’s more than likely none of them have success, especially with how sparingly PCA and Canario have been used. Go with the guys who give you the most upside and that is clearly Canario with his bat and PCA with his defense.
  9. Apparently Young is a dude who got us here.
  10. Regardless of how it happened, everyone would have taken a 3-3 road-trip at the beginning of it. Still have a chance at 4-2, which would be just bonus points.
