Judge, Turner and Bogaerts signings were all reported during the meetings last year. Sorry, Verlander was the one who signed last year at the meetings, not Scherzer.
Last year proved horsefeathers can get done at the meetings. But Judge and Scherzer signed early. Same with Turner and Bogaerts. Unfortunately one player is holding up everything this year.
I actually went about 10 years ago when it was also in Nashville. I went for the job fair. It was pretty fun but I didn’t leave the complex for the 3 days I was there.
Cubs should be signing a guy like Hoskins with or without Ohtani’s decision made. Same with trading for Glasnow. Both of those guys are one year deals.
I would probably choose Glasnow just because the ceiling is enormous. It’s not like Bieber has been terribly healthy the past couple years either. I suppose I would be fine with either but it just seems Glasnow is exactly who this rotation has been missing.
It’s pretty silly to me to say we are going to lose out on Shohei because of money. Everyone knows upfront what it’s going to take to sign him. It’s not some big mystery. If he picks the Dodgers, it’s going to be because he wanted to play there more.
