No. I'm judging Drury on his entire career, He was only got for 2 seasons and his underlying numbers in those 2 seasons were marginal. He had a good run. He's been around for 10 seasons and has 6 WAR. He's not a good player and he's absolutely terrible now. There's no team in baseball sitting around looking at what to do at 3B and having Brandon freaking Drury cross their mind. You can take that to the bank.
I would honestly be on the phone with the Mets on Ronny Mauricio. He's a shortstop by trade with a big arm and big power. He's lost this season due to an ACL tear. He has 1 option year remaining, assuming it doesn't get burned before the end of the season. More importantly, with the emergence of Mark Vientos as a viable MLB starter, the Mets dont have anywhere to put Mauricio and they still have Baty. Mauricio is ready for his shot and the Cubs could give him 3B. He's got all the tools to stick at 3B and given that he's only got the 1 option remaining it's probably not going to cost that much to get him.
Mets currently sit in the final WC spot and the one thing that stands out as a weakness is pitching. So probably looking at something like Assad going to the Mets. I would want a little something extra on top of Mauricio coming back, obviously. Someone like Nolan McLean has that plus fastball/slider combo the Cubs seem to love in the bottom half of their top 30.
