  1. Dude, Neifi's bat can't get cold. We need to keep him hot. He's saved us. This team would be 15 games under .500 without Neifi.
  2. The funny thing is, most of the Nationals fans that read this are probably really excited about the possiblity of Dusty.
  3. What a joke of a lineup. There is no way Dusty or anyone who supports him can say he doesn't favor veterans heavily over young players. What a worthless sack of s***.
  4. i said at the beginning of the year that if we're not making the playoffs, i want 100 losses to guarantee dusty is fired. 100 losses will be tough, but if anybody can do it it's the Cubs.
  5. This season is over. I'm actually hoping they continue sucking for the next 2 months, just so it gives Hendry a good reason to fire Dusty. We're not going anywhere with him.
  6. We should've signed Beltran. He would've fit right in with the rest of this team.
  7. No. The only time I can see Dusty using him is for pinch running. Him and Murton should be sent down and as far away from Dusty as possible. or dusty should be sent as far away from them as possible. Unfortunately the Cubs rarely do what they should do.
  8. No. The only time I can see Dusty using him is for pinch running. Him and Murton should be sent down and as far away from Dusty as possible.
  9. I would trade both. Not sure the Reds need a middle IF, but I would do that trade a million times. And I'm a big fan of Hill and Cedeno. I would do that trade too. Problem is the Reds GM is a moron and won't even trade Rich Aurilia, so getting Dunn isn't going to happen. Giles is much more realistic and can put up similar numbers outside of SD. Walker Nomar Giles Lee Ramirez Murton Barrett CPatt
  10. I think we would be better off letting Lawton go and let Murton take his place. He can probably put up numbers similar to Lawton at a much cheaper cost. The problem is that Dusty would probably stick some old bum like Hollandsworth out there instead of Murton.
  11.   I'm really hoping you're being sarcastic here.
  12. We also need to look for offense, relievers, and most importantly, a new manager.
  13. IMO, The Cubs MUST sign Brian Giles this offseason. Yes, I know he will be 35 next year and he is only on pace for only about 15 homers, but he's doing it in probably the biggest pitcher's park in the league. On the road this year he is hitting a ridiculous .337/.474/.613. He has 87 walks (leads all of MLB) while striking out just 47 times, with a .425 OBP. His career OBP is .412. He is exactly what this offense needs. A 3-4-5 of Lee, Giles and Ramirez would probably be the best in the league. Obviously his age is a risk, but he doesn't have much of an injury history over his career. I expect his SLG% (.545 career) to drop off over the next few years, but I think it's reasonable to expect his OBP to stay in the .400 range due to his tremendous eye. I'd like to hear other's thoughts on him and what you guys think the chances are that he ends up in a Cubs uniform next year.
  14. If that's the case, he's doing a darn good job of it. Even though he tied the game, the move to leave Hollandsworth in the game was possibly the stupidest decision he's made all year. And that's saying a lot.
  15. Agreed. That was a great opportunity to have a big inning, no reason not to have someone as hot as Murton up there. But then again, how hot can you be if you haven't faced live pitching in 3-4 days. Heh, good point. Same could be said for Macias though.
  16. Agreed. That was a great opportunity to have a big inning, no reason not to have someone as hot as Murton up there.
  17. No, Dusty saw an opportunity to get Macias into the game and couldn't pass it up.
  18. Biggest part of the game and Dusty pinch hits Jose Macias. Should've just left Jerome in there if you were gonna do that dusty.
  19. Neifi hit a chopper up the middle, he probably would've been out at 1st but it hit the 2nd base bag and took a weird hop.
  20. I'm actually hoping Neifi strikes out, just to stay out of the DP.
  21. Wait, last nights win inspired confidence in you??? I wanna how how optimistic you are when the Cubs actually play well ;) For some reason it did, because that was a game they usually find a way to lose. Similar to the 2 wins vs the cards, and the win vs the D-backs.
