  1. I could see Alcantara starting against a LHP. Wouldn't mind Ramirez starting again. Has looked better at the plate than Swanson. Probably won't do anything but desperate times call for desperate measures
  2. Looking forward to future Braxton Ashcraft vs Jaxon Wiggins matchups.
  3. On the positive, Webb was hitting 96-97 today, which is a 2mph bump from his season avg, and has pitched well since the early struggles. Ramirez has also looked good at the plate.
  4. I've been watching condensed games all weekend. I'm not watching 3 hours of this team hit and pitch like crap.
  5. Watching a hot April offense falter in May is getting tiring. This is the 3rd annual May swoon in a row..
  6. White Sox, Brewers, and now Astros just spinning breaking balls to him and he can't do anything with it.
  7. Why not just trade Ramirez or Rojas? They have little use on this team this year.
  8. We need a backup in case any of our INF get hurt. Shaw is it. We also may be replacing 2 corner OF next year. I don't see them trading Shaw. I think Rojas and/or Ramirez are much more likely to be traded, or other prospects. Given how Jed has behaved in all previous deadlines i think an average or worse SP and/or reliever seems more likely than any impact arms, unless we get a guy with control.
  9. It pleases me when the Padres struggle.
  10. I think Conforto has taken over for Mo. Mo hitting .075 in May. 3 hits in 44 PA. Not sure what has happened there.
  11. Yeah, it's a very good offense. It's 5th in runs now and ended 5th last year. The pitching staff has performed below-average according to FIP but there's been lots of injuries and the defense has made it play up. Pitchers are getting healthier. Hopefully Maton does better, we need RHP for the 7th and 8th inning.
  12. Cubs are 2nd in OBP so lots of opportunities which is part of it, but 22nd in wRC+ with RISP and 24th in SLG with RISP. They've still scored lots of runs. Nico leads the team in RBI followed by Dansby.
  13. Cubs played like little leaguers this series. What a hot mess of a team right now. Thankfully Cabrera only has a blister. His 4-seam and sinker get hammered. Hopefully they can make tweaks and he can figure it out.
  14. PCA looks like he could use a day off. Luckily they have an off day tomorrow and don't have to travel.
  15. Shota might be tipping or something, like the broadcast speculated. They've just owned Shota. Weren't fooled by much tonight. Shota a bit off though.
  16. Maybe they can sell fentanyl and Onlyfans subscriptions there?
  17. Swanson seeing over 40% breaking balls this year and he can't hit them vs RHP. Seiya can't either. Sox pumping them all weekend.
  18. Boyd's numbers are excellent besides the ERA. High Ks, low walks, not giving up HR, low FIP.
  19. He's tapped out on payroll in the offseason. If he wants more SP in the offseason he'd need to trade prospects anyways or not sign someone like Bregman.
  20. I'm not sure about that. Taillon had 3 effective starts before this one. 1 terrible start on the road yesterday. They're desperate for SP. Assad sucks. They have nobody after Brown and someone else will inevitably get hurt. They can piggy back Brown or Rea for 4 IP in the pen. Taillon would have to keep sucking as the weather keeps heating up for a release IMO.
  21. CC definitely has a slow hook this year, I assume because the pen is shallow.
  22. If this site sold reverse obvious tshirts the first one should say "Ian Happ sucks".
