    New rumor is Padres wants , Hayden, Horton, Assad, Brown or one of our aaa starters…. imo give them Hayden and get this done. I wasn’t impressed with him anyway. And if it gets Soto (even for one year!) I’m game with Hayden. id prefer a long term contract but would do it anyway. I don’t think we can stop there tho…. If you trade Hayden you still goes balls out for one of the jap SP and Ohtani. make the push!!!

    Well I mean tell me what “a rebuild” means…. Bc at this very moment no I’m still considering brewers as tough competition.

    I actually think the 3 Japanese studs would be a needle mover. Yeah we won’t go crazy but it’s allowing us to be in the conversation

    If he gets us Soto with an extension it doesn’t matter. id rather sign Jeimer and play him at 3b short term then Shaw and move Jeimer to 1b/dh then sign one of the japense SP with some cheap bullpen additions i believe that’s a playoff team

    Puts morel not needing to play 3b….probably means we wouldn’t have needed Mancini which was negative production anyway. yeah Correa had a bad year but still better than what we ran out there at 3b

    I still think the best team then and even now would’ve been to get Swanson and one of the other 3 to play 3b. that would’ve taken dbacks out of the playoffs last year.

    We were right there where the dbacks were. We don’t horsefeathers the bed and we make it not the dbacks. it can happen. but getting some major production from 1B and DH would sure help. CF will be less bc Belli would be gone and who knows if Tauchman can continue to be average-ish. But maybe PCA with his def can keep pace in production. It sure could help the pitching! I think RF/LF are pretty set. Same with SS/2B. C prolly set but not world beaters. 3B might end up being that rotated spot to find the hot hand.

    That was very similar last year to correct? Great second half? im just happy to have meaningful games after the way this team looked in April and May.

    Alonso and ohtani off-season would be amazing. also I’m in on a Belli extension if we trade Seiya. I think you could do that and make things work. Might not be able to buy much pitching tho.

    Cubs will not even come close to Ohtani. Mets are going to go all in off this “rebuild” they are doing now. if this means the Cubs somehow get Alonso tho it could be win win.

    No it’s not…. Stroman is gone…. You basically break even there bellinger needs traded now….. he’s played 2/3 of his games and thats a good year for him. He’s made of glass and not someone we need extended. Resign for two years? Sure why not. But that’s it!!!
