  1. Bichette or die for me… we need to score. We got a young OF and Shaw to package if needed he signs. Use that on pitching. I don’t see other options out there that move our needle as much as Bichette. End of story. won’t be as much as Tucker
  2. Valdez or cease Bichette for 3b couple bullpen arms and I’m real good with the offseason honestly
  3. Bichette damn auto correct lol
  4. Bo Beckett is a great fit at 3b…. Sorry to bring it up again. But the bat and glove there plays great. and he’s available for just $$.
  5. I’m aigning bichette for 3b. He needs a position change. He’s not a ss. Keeping Shaw for bench 2b/3b role. sign cease find a few bullpen arms to solidify that. If that means trading an OF or trading some youth I’m game. It’s time to win. Push this window to get to 100 win territory.
  6. You guys are pretty high on this team….
  7. Or 2b …. The hope Shaw is a stud at 3rd.
  8. I do not see this as a 90min team. 88 wins is my guess and that’s if things go well. Which doesn’t seem to happen much lately for the cubs. I feel you guys at 90 or over are insane….. just my opinion
  9. Further explanation…. I don’t hate the Tucker acquisition. I actually do like it! but it’ll look terrible if it’s only one year. I don’t feel the deal needs done today. I’m just saying if it doesn’t get done this is a LOPSIDED trade. and no I don’t see us doing anything this year. Maybe we play a wildcard game and probably get beat. furthermore Shaw could Be our 2b too… maybe he currently is the 2nd best in minors at 3b and that’s prolly where he ends up this year. But there’s real possibility Shaw at 2b and Cam at 3B was prolly our best long term option. For 2026-ish time frame. Allowing us to invest in the rotation and bullpen even more.
  10. But if you only get him for 1 year and you just traded the 3rd best 3B in the minors and you also don’t win anything this year (which we won’t) Then its gonna look awfully lopsided and not towards the cubs
  11. Bc the Bellinger deal worked out so well?!? Not saying it killed us but wasn’t great
  12. Well you can say and wish he’s not compared to Soto’s contract but he’s going to. That’s how market value works. he won’t get 765 I plainly said that. But he’s gonna be way higher than 375
  13. Well I think right at this moment Belli plays 1st and Busch plays 3rd but likely Belli is moved very soon
  14. lol for who? Soto just got 51/yr id say Tucker is lower than that and shorter years bc he’s slightly older but 37.5 per yr seems awfully light… especially if we want to resign him before FA which I’d imagine we do since we just gave up a haul for him.
  15. Goal to get best team on paper so sasaki sees us being good? the NL central is wide open for the taking IMO. Brewers will be solid again but after that…
  16. I mean I think paredes for Tucker is an improvement by a win or two… but we leave the gaping hole at 3B we just filled. Idk how I feel about that. just trade Belli and eat the $5 mill. Suzuki starts in RF. you get tucker and then does that make Suzuki mad and hurt our chances with Sasaki? idk I guess I just don’t trust Jed to do the right thing at this point. That’s where I’m at.
  17. What do I think? I think that’s a terrible idea.
  18. Idk why he’d want to come here but I hope he does
  19. If this World Series doesn’t prove to the FO that spending on a star is the right thing then nothing will. we have no excuse not to go all out for Soto. but we won’t and will just say well we tried.
  20. After this trade deadline there is no reason we shouldn’t be huge players on a guy like Soto. We did nothing to upgrade our offense. That’s our struggle now and will continue till we gain some pop in the lineup. Pretty much any catcher can be upgrade or even split. Or are we waiting out for Moises? we can trade hoerner if Shaw is offensive upgrade. But is he ready yet?
  21. We needed under the lux tax and to lose to get a better pick… hopefully he does rhat
  22. This talk of trading hoerner is baffling to me. I know we got options in the minors and I know his bat isn’t stellar. But losing him now just opens a hole where we really don’t have one right now. None of the other options are ready to go to today. I don’t see us getting a huge haul for Nico today or even in the future. Maybe I’m wrong but it just doesn’t make sense with Morel gone.
  23. Well I think the next step in this situation is to trade surplus… 1) Taillon 2) Neris 3) one of Belli, Happ Suzuki…. I honestly don’t care which. But we need an impact young player to do this. So you kick the one with the best young guy.
  24. I wanted Alonso on this team in preseason and I have no reason to not want him again. Busch and Alonso can be in the same lineup. There’s no one pushing him out. Belli in CF and Busch/alonso at 1b/DH. we need some pop. Alonso is the best option available.
