  1. In other big cub news to report, Kerry wood is selling his Winnetka home. Stay tuned for news from realtor.com to see where Yency Almonte leases his condo
  2. Wholly Frijoles, baseball writers are starving for something to write about. NBC sports is claiming only one roadblock is holding up a Belli reunion with the Cubs. They predict the holdup is dollars. LMFAO
  3. But... there might be a Belli announcement in Toronto, San Fran, or Seattle or ?
  4. Probably not til a day or 2 after the Waldron presser.
  5. Welp, today in Chicago sports headlines belongs to the bears and their new offense coordinator. So no Belli news in Chicago today. Jed and Boras are smart enough to NOT share the limelight publicity
  6. I'm glad we have a good strategist in councell. But before the rule changes, we can't forget that crazy game when madden was switching pitchers between the mound and left field. I think that half inning took at least 30 minutes. Probably this lead to some of the new rules. LOL
  7. I don't know, that's why I'm asking. Is bullpen construction different today with the rule change regarding a reliever facing 3 batters as opposed to when joe madden would change relievers as often as every hitter? No more lefty one out guys?
  8. I'm liking the idea of a 6 man rotation. I think Steele and imanaga as well as the Kiddie Corp could flourish with this schedule
  9. LOL I guess he gone now, SI I meant
  10. Damn. Dream breaker
  11. Sports illustrated contributor had a headline : Cubs miss out on their chance to sign closer Hader. When did we ever have the chance in hell to sign hader? Rcal, you and I should hook up with S.I. and write made up drivel for them instead of the drivel we post here. Might be a decent supplement to our SSI.
  12. Good one rcal I love that idea
  13. I think your dead on at 8m per, in value. But I'm thinking he's wanting 10-11 per Hence my new found infatuation for Caleb Thielbar
  14. Julian Merriweather pitched fairly well in 2023. Hopefully he can continue in 24. He was lights- out for awhile but then Ross kinda overused him down the stretch. We need a lefty version of Julian.
  15. 50m pesos is right on target for Neris
  16. Keep dreaming rcal. 😀
  17. I think jed is going to wait wait and wait til he can choose amongst the crumbs for a never has been who is possibly able to throw a sweeper. A real nothing gained nothing lost move.
  18. With this signing, they are buying a prospect in august?
  19. Who'da thunk it???
  20. Since you brought up Darvish, but not necessarily directed at just you. The Cubs traded darvish at the exact same time the Ray's traded snell. The Padres landed both established MLB pitchers for a butt-load of hugger prospects. Which team, cubs or rays, benefitted the most from their salary dumps after 3 long freaking years?
  21. I'd hunch he's trade fodder at deadline
  22. Headlines: Team to watch? Cubs expected to make impact moves soon. Wowzer that's going out on a limb considering ST is just around the corner. Headline probably in every mlb city. Just insert team name. LOL.
  23. Stanek, Maton, Neris, any of these former Astros fit in Jeds $ comfort zone?
  24. I had a nightmare that matt carpenter was one of the bats jed was referring to. Thank You cardinals for squelching those nightmared sleeps
  25. I dislike him for turning down 5 years 150m from the Yankees. I mean c'mon Boras.
