I hope it's Boras driven. If you consider Bellinger will go into the 2024 season at age 27, that's exactly the type to make part of the foundation here, if they're in a win now mode.

Cubs target: Bellinger Others lurking : Giants, Jays. Mariners, Angels aaaand Phillies. The Phillies quite possibly are the biggest threat. Imagine their batting lineup with Belli inserted?

I don't think he's a bad guy at all. He sets the parameters in the media. He says something along the lines : Belli will sign for 250m. And then gets no movement. He's perceived as being the beaver that built the dam .

In Jed's mind, he's smarter than the rest and got his lefty starter last year. Smyly will only cost him about 10m in 2024. -

Hahaha, I'm surprised the whitesox didn't sign him. They picked up like 4 scrub catchers so far this offseason. Actually it would've made fiscal sense for the Cubs to bring him back for spring training since they are already paying him

I think we are priced out of a whole bunch to come. Hader is projected around 120m. Snell around 180m. Belli around 200m. Chapman 150m. Hoskins is probably going to surprise everyone and get something a lot more than a prove it year deal. This year is the year of overpay. Remember how many were expecting glasnow to be had for wesneski, at most? Look how that spun around. Now people are talking how Bieber can be gotten for chicken fricassee?
