  1. Rcal, Justin Turner is a prime example of a player chasing the highest $ but once he got far along into the opt-out process he realized he effed up. Sure his agent got him the $ he hoped for, but Turner absolutely loved his short time in Boston and wanted to make his happy life in Beantown a much longer existence there. He really identified with his Boston experience and was certain his agent could deal with Breslow. But Breslows predecessor tied his hands by signing outfielder Yoshida to $90m, only to find out later he can't play the outfield. But at least Turner can find happiness looking at his financial portfolio
  2. I want to dream big time. Is Morel/Wicks an over pay for Luzardo?
  3. Scott Boras is his agent. Safe bet : he's going to be a free agent
  4. I'll bet the Orioles Hangout is going absolutely bonkers tonight
  5. Goodbye Michael Rucker.
  6. Njigba put on assignment by the Pirates looks like an interesting lefty bat to stash in Iowa. Not sure if he's required to be put on the 40?
  7. Wow. Just now noticed most online here jumped to 417. Considering when I signed up high water mark was in the low 300's. Amazing what a Hector Neris signing can do, imagine what would happen if we signed a "name" ?
  8. I'll be disappointed if Tony Kemp is the "bat" Jed was referring to all along
  9. Cabbage was added to stros roster after Delcan Cronin was designated. Delcan is son of Keith Cronin, played with REO Speedwagon. Just worthless information my silly brain retains.
  10. Haven't heard much about our catching situation, other than the AAAA roster-fill signed for ST purposes. Gomes is the obvious starter. Amaya will backup plus an occasional start at DH. Do you guys still see Amaya starting at catcher once a week plus day games following night starts made by Gomes? Should Jed be checking in on young or veteran catchers for a flip in return for some of our youngsters?
  11. Just a random thought on a greyish off-season day. I'm not a statistical type of guy. But perhaps one of the more astute types can answer? How many chances does the random typical 3rdbaseman handle in a random typical game? I understand a lot of variables play into the planning. Such as: what dominant hand of the pitch. Pull hitter or opposite way guy. And probably a gazillion more determinations unthought by me and unspoken by many? The reason for my ask: how many chances could Morel bugger up in games at 3rd. (I know, short answer: all of them)
  12. cubs have signed 4 - 28 yearold leftys this offseason for their pitch lab. Lovelady has a difficulty staying healthy?
  13. I think Jed is tickled to have Busch play first. I don't believe he makes the trade.
  14. Rcal. I know you were a big proponent for a Polanco/cub acquisition. Just judging by the player cost, seattle thinks quite highly of their new infielder.
  15. Kumbaya My Lord, Kumbaya
  16. Or from busch
  17. I got that. But I want a ken Holtzman for Rick Monday type of deal. A quasi controversial trade where equal value is debatable by both sides of the coin
  18. I want an old fashion trade. One of them my guy for your guy type of trades. One of those that fills both teams' immediate needs.
  19. Now that we are discussing or dissing politics, how about religion?
  20. in the misty moonlight. By the flickering firelight. Any place is alright as long as I'm with you
  21. How-a-bout dem CUBS !!!
  22. I Predicted tommy pham already. Not that I want him. Just kinda think Jed does
  23. I'd like to see my team go to Rodeo Drive rather than dollar general
  24. Carl Jr? What's the old saying: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results ?
