You're right, plus Jed won't want to give up the draft pick. Interesting to note, cubs have only exceeded the 1st parameter once - way back in 1999. (Seems like forever)

I've noticed when some of the national reporters wrote about the Cubs signing Dom Smith and also later when they announced Garrett Cooper, they used a very descriptive term. They used the adjective "slugger" firstbaseman. Do sluggers average a dozen hrs or less per season across their careers?

Keep in mind if Busch goes back to AAA and if Counsell goes with both Smith and Cooper at 1st that'll be an additional 5 or 6 mil ?

I believe 1908 provided great examples for the need of PCA to start in AAA at the beginning of 24. Really some eye opening stats that reinforce and confirm. Numbers that tell Jed he needs more work in certain areas.
