    Yeah that's what I was thinking. I also still believe in Shaw but I dont think it would hurt to consider an expiring contract for a couple months. He was the first name that popped into my head outside of Arenado but I dont see that ever happening. EDIT: I was wrong. I didnt realize he had signed an extension with Colorado. That makes that idea much less appealing.

    I wonder if Ryan McMahon is a target at the trade deadline. He's been horrible with the bat to start the season but he's been consistent throughout his whole career so I think he will turn it around and hes a free agent next season.

    Man, Devin Taylor has really shot up boards. Especially for a guy who profiles as a LF/1B/DH. The offensive profile is terrific though.

    Doesnt Murakami have pretty bad K issues? Not saying he cant succeed or be a good player but I thought one of the major concerns with him is that he wont hit enough.

    Awesome. Thanks man! In his last start, he looked good and his stuff was filthy but it looked like he was still rusty with mechanics and command. Happy to hear a positive report. Looking forward to reading the article.

    I've got faith in Happ. He always starts slow. I wouldnt be surprised if hes still hitting like trash in mid may, but then we will look at his overall line at the end of the year and he will have career numbers or in line with them again.

    Anyone have any reports on how Wiggin's command looked? I see the 7Ks and 2BBs but im curious if thats just a product of hitters being less advanced at South Bend. Was he hitting his spots? Also, it does seem like Cubs pitchers are going longer than they did in the past. Thank god. it used to drive me nuts that guys would get removed after 3 or 4 IP. I understand innings limits and throwing programs but it seemed like it would go the entire season. I'm hoping this helps build the pitching depths stamina for the long term. Loving some of the initial returns at the lower levels right now.

    I'm guessing beginning of June for Horton. I'd like to see him get that stamina up a little more and shake off some of that rust. I'd like to see the Cubs piggy back him in the 4/5 spot. I think that would be a good way to ease him into the pros and keep that innings limit low while providing valuable experience.

    What is up with the defense man? Its like once a game there is an inning where everyone forgets how to play their position

    Ill take it from him. I think the big thing with Cade right now in the early going is getting his stamina up. Going 75 pitches with 6Ks is a good day.

    Id agree with you, but sticking at SS is always gonna be a strong indicator of future value imo. Valdez hasnt shown that he can't play SS at all yet but sticking up the middle will probably be an important factor in his development just due to his current/future hitting profile.

    Its a shame too. That ownership group is absolute trash. Pittsburgh deserves a good team again. That ball park is gorgeous.
