  1. I see lefties and some solid relievers on there. He's gotten extremely sporadic playing time, to consider him unplayable because he can't adjust to mlb pitching due to his incredibly sporadic playing time is absurd. We are talking a miniscule sample size here. Don't see why not playing a top 100 prospect over mediocre journeymen shouldn't be considered a knock on Ross. They are not getting to the post season might as we'll get the kids some appearances that aren't late inning subs.
  2. Yeah PCA needs to keep getting more 8th/9th inning pinch hit opportunities vs the teams best relievers. He's been so unplayable because of his own doing and nothing to do with how Ross has utilized him.
  3. Probably won't see them until Cubs are actually eliminated. By seeing them I mean they will get a 8th inning pinch hit appearance and be asked to bunt.
  4. 1 more Cubs loss and Marlins win means they clinch right? Doesn't even matter I guess, even if they were out of it Ross would be starting Tauchman, Mastroboner, Wisdom and somehow Young with all the kids on the bench.
  5. Doubt any team would unless he proves he's healthy and pitching well, and if he is at that point the Cubs are better off holding on to him. He hasn't pitched well in months, no one would take him for over 20 mil
  6. He's 100% opting in. No one will give him anything long term or a short term deal heftier than the one he can opt into with the Cubs with him coming off back to back injury plagued seasons and he's been awful for more than half the season now.
  7. Not sure why boog is surprised that was called an error on Happ. He dropped a catchable ball and slid after for some reason
  8. Demoting a guy pitching well as a starter in Assad for a guy who has been terribly sucking in Stroman was definitely an interesting decision. Almost like self sabotage
  9. I'll take my luck with Morel slapping a dick instead of Boner slapping a single any day of the week
  10. Also his love affair with Mastroboner after a few good games, he's still a bum.
  11. I said a month ago, Leiter, Merryweather and Alzolay needed to go on the IL because all 3 of them looked off. Think they are praying Leiters arm doesn't fall off until Alzolay is ready to come back
  12. Would help if his middle infield could turn a routine double play
  13. This team is just full of chokers. Defense completely falling apart. Will not win anything if they make it to the postseason
  14. With a FIP near 5 I wouldnt call him useful. Just a warm body
  15. Debatable, if I remember correctly the entire lineup was hot during that stretch.
  16. Candelario has picked right back with his sucking, Herz pitched well in his brief time with the Nats too. That trade will go down being real ugly.
  17. Hopefully Hoyer has learned his lesson. This scrapheap bullpen construction got lucky results for a few seasons. It not an ideal way to build a bullpen. And with how important bullpens are you can't just Hope horsefeathers sticks against the wall. He better sign some high end bullpen arms this offseason. Starting with a legitimate closer.
  18. Rub it in bro, I'll be doing the same when he hits like a potato
  19. You dont understand the difference between AAA and MLB pitching?
  20. He's probably gonna get a hit here because baseball is cruel, but with Young coming up that send makes a lot of sense.
  21. We know what kind of hitter Young is, he's been up before and he's been mid. We know how's he's fared at AAA over a large sample size. I will take the upside and talent the other young kids offer over a guy who has shown he's nothing special. Flukey one year wonders from old dudes who have seen AAA pitching over a number of years is pretty common.
  22. A near 30 year old dude having a career year at AAA is a lot less likely to have any success at the major league level. Canario had a good game and was immediately benched. I think it's clear who should be playing.
