    Weird how they say they don't want to block prospects and then are interested on players that would block prospects. If they sign Bellinger as CF and then play him at 1B when PCA is "ready" then they just paid him centerfielder money to play first. Just an all round stupid notion. I am just losing all faith in the front office, makes it truly seem like they have no plan as Sharma said.

    Jeds wait back and see what falls on his lap approach is pretty dumb in my opinion, worse it basically confirms the Cubs will never land a star player because he doesn't want to enter bidding wars. Can basically count out Soto next year.

    Saw Ohtani can possibly opt out if ownership changes or if Friedman leaves. Basically an anti tank/rebuild clause in his contract. Cubs probably didn't want to offer that since they are one of the few big market teams that enjoy doing a rebuild every 5 years

    Makes a lot of sense for the Dodgers, one year rental til ohtani is ready to pitch again. Maybe Yamamoto doesn't want to play with a star like Ohtani.

    It already has kinda worked out. The contract numbers itself created a frenzy in the sports and non sports world. Ohtani is the most marketable mlb player in the game right now. Everybody in Japan is a dodger fan now and someone mentioned on here that will likely create a pipeline of future npb talent wanting to play for the Dodgers. I saw that report that Sasaki wanted to be posted so that he could play with ohtani. Was that fake? Maybe yeah but that is a likely outcome of him signing with the Dodgers. The increased revenue of him being with the team will offset a lot of his cost. And this is all before he even takes the field. If he comes back hitting, they have a great DH. If he comes back pitching too then the Dodgers got a steal even at 700 mil. This case is unique to a unique player like ohtani.

    Saw that roki Sasaki asked to be posted but was likely to be denied. Interesting to follow since he's probably better than Yamamoto and younger. Might happen next year

    With everything that's been said about Ohtani, with him wanting to win and being a guy devoted to his method and not liking to change it, I have doubts he'd join the Bluejays in the toughest division in baseball in a new country but im no insider.
